Typical States and Their Risks for Mortgage Loans.

In this study, we construct a compartmental model that tracks the different states and their respective hazards for typical mortgage loans. We consider that an active mortgage loan could become delinquent in light of either common systemic risks or idiosyncratic risks in the job market. These two groups of employment-related perils jeopardize the sources of income underlying the mortgage monthly payments to lenders and could hurt the ability of mortgage loan borrowers to retire their debt.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia with isochromosome 17q and cryptic PML-RARA successfully treated with all-trans retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a subtype of acute leukemia that is characterized by typical morphology, bleeding events and distinct chromosomal aberrations, usually the t(15;17)(q22;q21) translocation. Approximately 9% of APL patients harbor other translocations involving chromosome 17, such as the t(11;17)(q23;q21), t(5;17)(q35;q12-21), t(11;17)(q13;q21), and der(17). All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO) have specific targeted activities against the PML-RARA fusion protein.

Ovarian minimal residual disease in chronic myeloid leukaemia.

The options for fertility preservation include cryopreservation of ovarian tissue. Although transplantation of cryopreserved-thawed ovarian tissue in cancer survivors has resulted in live births, there is evidence of malignancy involvement in ovarian tissue, especially in leukaemia. The objectives of this study were to investigate the involvement of chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) in ovaries by both pathological/immunohistochemical methods and PCR for the identification of the Philadelphia chromosome (BCR-ABL transcripts).

Popeye domain containing 1 (Popdc1/Bves) is a caveolae-associated protein involved in ischemia tolerance.

Popeye domain containing1 (Popdc1), also named Bves, is an evolutionary conserved membrane protein. Despite its high expression level in the heart little is known about its membrane localization and cardiac functions. The study examined the hypothesis that Popdc1 might be associated with the caveolae and play a role in myocardial ischemia tolerance.

The Popdc gene family in the rat: molecular cloning, characterization and expression analysis in the heart and cultured cardiomyocytes.

Three Popeye domain-containing (Popdc 1-3) family-members are known in vertebrates. Their exact function is as yet unknown although involvement in cell adhesion has been suggested. We report herein sequencing of the rat Popdc 1-3 cDNAs that show high homology to other vertebrate orthologs and are expressed primarily in the heart and skeletal muscles.

[Diaphragmatic hernia in children].

Hernia of the diaphragm in children (226 observations) is characterised by a great variety of symptoms. Clinical manifestations of the hernia allow to divide the course of the disease into acute, subacute and recurrent forms and complications (incarcerations) which helps the doctor to timely diagnose the disease.

[Treatment of intestinal paresis in children].

In the paper, a clinical experience with treatment of intestinal paresis in 545 children, aged from 1 day to 13 years, including 225 children operated upon for peritonitis is summarized. The authors differentiate 3 stages in the development of intestinal paresis depending on the degree of intensity of systemic and local disturbances. The employed methods of treatment in intestinal paresis were classified by the principle of their effect as 3 groups.
