Simple and rapid stability indicating High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Photo Diode Array (HPLC-PDA) method was developed and validated for the estimation of tolnaftate in the presence of its forced degradation products. The method employed SunQSil C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) as stationary phase and acetonitrile:water (85:15, v/v) as mobile phase.

We aimed to estimate the effectiveness of BNT162b2 vaccine against COVID-19 infection over time, intensive care unit admission, severe or critical disease and death due to COVID-19. This study was conducted in the resident population of Labuan aged ≥18 years who had been tested for SARS-CoV-2 by Reverse-Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction between 1 March 2021 and 31 October 2021.

Crude (CR) and flavonol+dihydrochalcone- (FL+DHC-), anthocyanin- (AN-), proanthocyanidin- (PR-), and phenolic acid+catechin- (PA+C-) rich fractions were subjected to fermentation with at 37°C for 12, 24, and 48 h under anaerobic conditions. The major metabolites produced by bioconversion of polyphenols were 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid, hydrocinnamic acid, catechol, and pyrogallol.

To optimize the in vitro and In-silico study we carried out on substituted 1,6-Dihydropyrimidine. The objective of the present study is to evaluate the binding interaction of 1,6-Dihydropyrimidine compounds with Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase (PTP1B) enzyme and also check ADME/T properties of best scored compounds.

Many of these kinases are associated with human cancer initiation and progression. The recent development of small-molecule kinase inhibitors for the treatment of diverse types of cancer has proven successful in clinical therapy.

The cornerstone of antibody detection method is detecting an unexpected antibody as against the expected antibodies of ABO blood group system. Autoantibodies can also interfere with the detection of clinically significant alloantibodies.

A 2(3) central composite design with β-CD concentration (0-5 g 100 mL(-1)), extraction temperature (20-72 °C), extraction time (6-48 h) and second-order quadratic model for the total flavonol yield (mg 100 g(-1) DM) was selected to generate the response surface curves. The optimal conditions obtained were: β-CD concentration, 2.

Background: Early diagnosis of hypertension (HT) is an important strategy in its control. Previous studies have documented that hypertension may begin in adolescence, perhaps even in childhood. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of hypertension and risk factors among school going children in Surat city, south Gujarat, India.

Tear lactoferrin concentration was measured by ELISA technique and followed in 30 patients undergoing cataract surgery. On the first day following surgery, there was a significant decrease in tear lactoferrin concentration followed by a gradual return to the initial values during the postoperative observation period of 7 days. There was an inverse linear relationship between tear lactoferrin concentration and the tear secretion rate measured by a modified Schirmer I test (1 min) suggesting a constant lactoferrin secretion by the tear glands.

Morning glory syndrome, an unusual developmental anomaly of the optic nerve head, presenting with funnelled enlargement of the disc with a white dot in the centre and a peripheral vascular pattern along the disc margin, with features of typical entry and exit of retinal vessels on the optic nerve head and exceptionally good vision in the involved eye with old traumatic retinal detachment in the other, in a young Indian girl is described here for its rarity and indifferent clinical presentation. Various factors in its pathogenesis are postulated.

Tear film flow and stability studies were carried out in patients suffering from acute and chronic conjunctivitis by performing Schirmer test-I and break-up-time (BUT) measurements. In this clinical study, patients with chronic conjunctival inflammation demonstrated a premature break-up of tear film despite normal amounts of aqueous tears. In acute catarrhal conjunctivitis the values of BUT were within normal limits, whereas the values of Schirmer test-I were significantly higher (t-test, P less than 0.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTear film flow and stability studies were carried out in patients suffering from chronic dacryocystitis by performing Schirmer test-I and tear film break-up-time (BUT) measurements. The results of Schirmer's test corroborated the theory that a reduced out flow of tears causes a compensatory reduced tear secretion. The results of break-up-time confirm the fact that BUT is independent of outflow of tears in patients with epiphora.
