Introduction: Penile prosthesis (PP) is one of the main approved therapies for erectile dysfunction (ED). Greater than 50 years of clinical use has led to considerable innovation in PP surgery and patient care.
Objectives: To summarize the current literature and provide updated clinical evidence to inform healthcare providers on best practices with PP.
Objectives: This study aims to (1) compare air pollution and child opportunity between neighborhoods with and without high health care utilization (HHU) for asthma, and (2) compare health care utilization frequency by race, ethnicity, primary language, and insurance type at the patient level.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study examined children with asthma within the Rady Children's Health System (2015-2020) who met HHU criteria [≥2 emergency department (ED) visits in 6 months or ≥2 hospitalizations in 12 mo]. Patient addresses were geocoded to census tracts, and ArcGIS was used to map CalEnviroScore 4.
Aims: To present a model of the determinants of maternal mortality for Indigenous women-social, structural, political and biological.
Design: Non-Indigenous academicians and an Indigenous tribal citizen and scholar partnered to amplify Indigenous women's voices.
Method: With epistemic decolonisation and Indigenist feminism as our theoretical basis, we used theory derivation to create a model of the determinants of Indigenous maternal mortality.
Background: Aberrant interoceptive processing has been hypothesized to contribute to the pathophysiology of functional neurological disorder, although findings have been inconsistent. Here, we utilized functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to examine neural correlates of interoceptive attention - the conscious focus and awareness of bodily sensations - in functional movement disorder (FMD).
Methods: We used voxelwise analyses to compare blood oxygenation level-dependent responses between 13 adults with hyperkinetic FMD and 13 healthy controls (HCs) during a task requiring attention to different bodily sensations and to an exteroceptive stimulus.
A neutron resonance absorption imaging technique to visualize two-dimensional distributions with element discrimination has been developed at the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex. We measured neutron transmission spectra from 1 eV to 100 keV while rotating a sample containing iron, zirconium, nickel, molybdenum, and aluminum rods. The distributions of hafnium (impurity of zirconium) and molybdenum were clearly obtained by a straightforward analysis using the most prominent resonances.

Methods: A single center, randomized, partially blinded, crossover study in 44 healthy participants was conducted. Participants self-injected with autoinjectors (1 mL) with either high pain (citrate/sodium chloride (NaCl)) or low pain (mannitol) formulations at refrigerated temperature or warmed to room temperature (RT) according to the instructions for use (IFU).
High-frequency oscillations (HFOs) in intracranial EEG (iEEG) recordings are critical biomarkers for localizing the seizure onset zone (SOZ) in patients with focal refractory epilepsy. Despite their clinical significance, HFO analysis is often compromised by high-frequency artifacts that bypass conventional detectors, resulting in false-positive events that dilute the reliability of the HFO pool. To address this challenge, this study aimed to develop an automated method to accurately identify and eliminate false-positive events, ensuring more robust and artifact-free HFO analysis for clinical applications.

During gas chromatography-olfactometry analysis of pea protein isolate, previously uncharacterized old soap odors were detected. These were found to arise from a family of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes formed from the aldol condensation of pentanal and hexanal during the protein extraction process.

Observations: A 63-year-old female with metastatic ovarian cancer diagnosed with intraepithelial corneal deposits two weeks after her first MIRV infusion. Treatment with topical prednisolone acetate 1 % ophthalmic suspension and lubricating eye drops without interruption of her MIRV infusions resulted in complete resolution of blurry vision and corneal deposits.
Objectives: The objectives were to assess current job retention vocational rehabilitation (JRVR) services for employed individuals with inflammatory arthritis (IA) in rheumatology therapy departments interested in participating in the Workwell trial. Additionally, to modify a JRVR training course to support therapists in delivering JRVR and to evaluate changes in therapists' knowledge, confidence, and ability following the training.
Methods: This was a mixed-methods study.
Background: Women who self-harm and experience complex mental health difficulties are frequently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD), also known as emotionally unstable personality disorder. Emerging research suggests that self-harm may often be better explained through the lens of autism, and that greater consideration should be given to the clients' motivations for self-harm. How time alone is experienced may also be a differentiating factor.

Bacteria secrete proteins into plant cells to reprogram host immunity and development. Yang et al. recently revealed that a nonadapted bacterial pathogen, Xanthomonas oryzae (Xoo), suppresses reproduction in arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) via a type VI-secreted effector TleB.

As a result, a large portion of reported patient outcomes may be reasonably expected regardless of the trial arm to which a study subject is assigned. This study aims to investigate the extent of results overlap that exists between interventions in bariatric randomized controlled trials, despite significant P values by analyzing differences in trial means and standard deviations (SDs).

However, preclinical drug development has been slower to adopt these tools. Recently, we used miniature microscopes to record Ca activity in D1 and D2 dopamine receptor-expressing spiny projection neurons (SPNs) in response to antipsychotic drugs or candidates.

Yet, cervical cancer remains the fourth most common cancer diagnosis in women globally. As HPV and its role in the development of cervical cancer become better understood, vaccines have emerged as a front runner for improved therapeutic cervical cancer treatment.

Red blood cell transfusions, a common acute treatment, pose well-recognized risks including lung injury, circulatory overload, and immune dysfunction. Intravenous iron, specifically sodium ferric gluconate complex (SFGC), is a potential alternative, however investigation on its use in hospitalized children is lacking.

Using starter cultures and optimising the selection of the raw materials can overcome this. This study evaluated the impact of various lactic acid bacteria (LAB) starters and varieties of cassava (bitter: IBA30527; vitamin A fortified bitter: IBA011371; and sweet: TMEB117) on the proximate, rheological, and volatile profiles of lafun.

Methods: An initial 16-item questionnaire, developed within an addiction framework, was administered alongside job stress, job satisfaction, and self-esteem measures in a total sample of 31,352 employees from six continents and 85 cultures (63.5% females, mean age of 39.
Background: Breastfeeding provides multiple maternal and child benefits, but breastfeeding rates are suboptimal. Parental leave access and use have been associated with higher breastfeeding rates, however, there have been a lack of studies examining fathers' use of parental leave. The objective of this study was to measure the associations between fathers' work leave and infant breastfeeding among a representative sample of fathers from Georgia, United States.

However, rodents are loose-skinned and fail to recapitulate key aspects of human wound repair. We sought to elucidate the effects of YAP inhibition in red Duroc pig wounds, the most human-like model of scarring.

Objective: To provide updated clinical evidence to inform health care providers on best practices with VED.
Importance: There is a need for additional treatment options for people with type 2 diabetes treated with insulin. Given the limited data on the use of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems in type 2 diabetes, studies evaluating their safety and efficacy are important.
Objective: To evaluate the association of AID with hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels in a diverse cohort of adults with type 2 diabetes.
