Technological advancements in fluorescence flow cytometry and an ever-expanding understanding of the complexity of the immune system have led to the development of large flow cytometry panels reaching up to 43 colors at the single-cell level. However, as panel size and complexity increase, so too does the detail involved in designing and optimizing successful high-quality panels fit for downstream high-dimensional data analysis. In contrast to conventional flow cytometers, full-spectrum flow cytometers measure the entire emission spectrum of each fluorophore across all lasers.

Medical records of 75 cats admitted for gastrointestinal (GI) and urogenital (UG) surgeries were reviewed and analyzed. Buprenorphine analgesia was used with 36 cats (48%) premedicated with maropitant and 39 cats (52%) that were used as a control group.

Wearable activity trackers and mobile phone apps are promising potential self-management tools for maintaining physical activity after CR completion.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the acceptability of a wearable device, mobile app, and push messages to facilitate physical activity following CR completion.
Background: Microbial cell-free DNA (mcfDNA) sequencing of plasma can identify the presence of a pathogen in a host. In this study, we evaluated the duration of pathogen detection by mcfDNA sequencing vs conventional blood culture in patients with bacteremia.
Methods: Blood samples from patients with culture-confirmed bloodstream infection were collected within 24 hours of the index positive blood culture and 48 to 72 hours thereafter.
Background: We ascertained incidence of opportunistic infections (OIs) in people with human immunodeficiency virus (PWH) with cancer undergoing chemotherapy with non-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) comparators.
Methods: We identified 2106 PWH and 2981 uninfected Veterans with cancer who received at least 1 dose of chemotherapy between 1996 and 2017 from the Veterans Aging Cohort Study. We ascertained incident OIs within 6 months of chemotherapy amongst zoster, cytomegalovirus, tuberculosis, esophagitis, pneumonia (PCP), toxoplasmosis, Cryptococcosis, atypical infection, bacteremia, histoplasmosis, coccidioidomycosis, or progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy.
HDinHD (Huntington's Disease in High Definition; HDinHD.org) is an open online portal for the HD research community that presents a synthesized view of HD-related scientific data. Here, we present a broad overview of HDinHD and highlight the newly launched HDinHD Explorer tool that enables researchers to discover and explore a wide range of diverse yet interconnected HD-related data.

Incivility and its negative impacts on individuals, teams, and organizations have been widely studied in workplace contexts, but the literature lacks a comprehensive understanding of incivility from the instigator's perspective. This meta-analysis of instigated incivility included 35,344 workers from 76 independent samples. Results showed that instigated incivility was related to several correlates including psychological ill-being, ρ = .

Summary Of Background Data: RBC transfusions are common in surgery and associated with widespread variability despite adjustment for casemix. Evidence-based recommendations guiding RBC transfusion in the operative setting are limited.
Prestige Biopharma Ltd (Singapore) has developed HD201, a proposed biosimilar to reference product trastuzumab. As a part of the stepwise approach to ensure comparability between the biosimilar candidate and the reference medicinal product, a phase I study in healthy subjects was conducted to demonstrate the pharmacokinetic (PK) equivalence (NCT03776240). The primary objective of the study was to demonstrate (PK) equivalence of HD201, EU-Herceptin , and US-Herceptin given at 6 mg/kg as a 90-min i.

We evaluated changes in clinical and bacterial characteristics, and their associations with clinical outcomes with SAB in this population over a 21-year period.

Objectives: Allostatic load (AL), defined as the overtime "wear and tear" on biological systems due to stress, disproportionately affects racial/ethnic minorities and has been shown to associate with racial inequality in oral health in the adult population. This study aims to assess racial/ethnic inequality in AL and untreated dental caries (UD) in children, and to assess the association between allostatic load and UD, and whether it varies by race/ethnicity.
Methods: Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (2001-2010) for 8-17-year-old children (n = 11,378) was used.

Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is a complex, multifactorial, and biologically heterogeneous disorder with debilitating outcomes. Understanding individual reasons why patients do not respond to treatment is necessary for improving clinical recommendations regarding medication regimens, augmentation strategies, and alternative treatments. This manuscript reviews evidence-based treatment strategies for the clinical management of TRD.

Sarcopenia is the age-related loss of muscle mass and strength that is associated with adverse health outcomes. Resistance-based exercises are effective for mitigation and enhancement of strength; however, adherence is low and challenging to measure when patients are at home. In a single-arm, pilot study of seven older adults, we conducted a field-based usability study evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of using a system consisting of a Bluetooth-connected resistance exercise band and tablet-based app which together we call BandPass in completing four different home-based exercises.

Methods: We used retrospective chart review to compare 57 psychiatric patients suspected of malingering with 195 date-matched controls. We examined evidence used for malingering and documented secondary gains.
Objectives/hypothesis: To identify barriers to and opportunities for referral among children who could be considered for cochlear implantation.
Study Design: Retrospective review.
Methods: Audiological and medical records were reviewed on all children who had diagnostic or hearing aid care through a statewide healthcare system over 5-year span to identify children who met newly established clinical cochlear implant (CI) referral criteria.
Restorative proctocolectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) is the procedure of choice for patients with ulcerative colitis and select patients with Crohn's disease. Minimally invasive techniques have been increasingly adopted including the transanal approach. However there remains a dearth of comparative data assessing the technical advantages and outcomes of a transanal approach to the IPAA against other minimally invasive techniques.

Methods: A fast region-based convolutional neural network was trained to crop the knee joints in sagittal dual-echo steady-state magnetic resonance imaging sequences obtained from the Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI). Publicly available annotations of the cartilage and menisci were used as references to annotate the tibia and the femur in 61 knees.
The efficacy of standard antidepressants is limited for many patients with mood disorders such as major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar depression, underscoring the urgent need to develop novel therapeutics. Both clinical and preclinical studies have implicated glutamatergic system dysfunction in the pathophysiology of mood disorders. In particular, rapid reductions in depressive symptoms have been observed in response to subanesthetic doses of the glutamatergic modulator racemic (R,S)-ketamine in individuals with mood disorders.

Background: EVA is the most common congenital malformation of the inner ear, is responsible for a large percentage of children with hearing loss, and is associated with hearing loss progression. Rates and degree of progression of hearing loss to cochlear implantation candidacy have not been well described.
Background: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is an exercise-based program prescribed after cardiac events associated with improved physical, mental, and social functioning; however, many patients return to a sedentary lifestyle leading to deteriorating functional capacity after discharge from CR. Physical activity (PA) is critical to avoid recurrence of cardiac events and mortality and maintain functional capacity. Leveraging mobile health (mHealth) strategies to increase adherence to PA is a promising approach.
