Several prospective studies have documented the effectiveness of oral cyclosporine in the treatment of psoriasis. Despite this, the use of cyclosporine has been limited because of concern about the possibility of drug-induced renal dysfunction. We review the effects of cyclosporine on renal function.

An analysis of variance revealed no significant main effects due to respondents' birth order or gender, but did find a significant main effect due to family structure and a significant two-way interaction effect between respondents' family structure and gender. Specifically, males from divorced remarried families and females from divorced nonremarried families were found to evaluate their respective families significantly more negatively than did their counterparts from other familial configurations.

An analysis of variance revealed significant main effects due to students' family structure, gender, and birth order. Specifically, youth from divorced nonremarried and divorced remarried families experienced more dysfunctional support systems than youth from intact families.

Five monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) raised against separate determinants on a breast gross cystic disease fluid protein of 15 KD (GCDFP-15) were compared to one another and to a rabbit antiserum (Rb) against GCDFP-15 by radioimmunoassay (RIA) and by immunoperoxidase localization in paraffin-embedded tissues. All five Mabs and the Rb were equivalent in recognition of GCDFP-15 in solution, as determined by RIA. However, two of the Mabs (A5, B15) showed only minimal binding to GCDFP-15 in paraffin-embedded tissues, whereas the other three Mabs (B1, B4, D6) were equivalent to the Rb in staining intensity.

A Mr 43,000 protein was immunoprecipitated by polyclonal antibodies to the Zn-alpha 2-glycoprotein. A Mr 18,000 and a Mr 13,000 polypeptide were both immunoprecipitated by four monoclonal antibodies directed against four separate epitopes of Mr 15,000 gross cystic disease fluid protein, a major protein that is characteristic of apocrine gland secretions.

In the interim, as well as prior to the study, some of these children experienced parental divorce and/or unhappy intact families. This report will compare these children's evaluations of themselves and their parents to the evaluations of children who had experienced an intact familial configuration.

Individuals from "happy" families were found to rate themselves significantly higher and their mothers somewhat higher than did their counterparts from "unhappy" families.

The results of this study indicated that children from intact families tended to evaluate themselves and their parents more positively than those from divorced families. Children from remarried families, as opposed to children from nonremarried families, were found to evaluate themselves somewhat more positively, their fathers significantly more positively, and their mothers less favorably.

This was so regardless of whether the respondents were normal or exceptional children. Since data were collected from mainstreamed classrooms, it appears that mainstreaming may not be directly deleterious to exceptional children's self-concepts, but has associated with it a negative stigma for exceptional children as a group for both exceptional and normal children.

The self-concepts of 406 grade school and junior high school students were assessed in this study. It was found that children and adolescents who had experienced father loss through divorce and whose mothers hadnot remarried demonstrated significantly lower self-concepts than those who were from intact families. Interestingly, children and adolescents who had experienced father loss through divorce and whose mothers had remarried were found to possess lower self-concepts than those from intact families, but this difference was not statistically significant.

Mainstreaming is a legislative reality, yet there is still a question as to whether non-handicapped students are prepared for it. In the present study 131 grade school students were each asked to select from the Personal Attribute Inventory for Children 15 adjectives which best fit three groups of handicapped children as well as normal children. The groups were described in a hierarchical fashion: "normal children" were rated most favorably, then "physically handicapped children," "learning disabled children," and "emotionally disturbed children.
