Delivery of the drugs to the target tissue and reducing their side effects on surrounding tissues is still a significant challenge for pharmaceutical scientists. The aim of this study was to investigate the suitability of PLGA-PEG-PLGA triblock copolymer as a matrix material for a sustained-release system of sodium deoxycholate (NaDC). The copolymer was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization reaction, using microwave irradiation and characterized by different techniques.

This study was carried out to determine the optimal folding condition of α-amylase from Bacillus megaterium WHO using response surface methodology (RSM). A first-order model showed that three factors namely glycerol, Ca(2+) and protein concentration had the most significant effect on refolding. Analysis of the results showed that glycerol was better than the other polyols due to its effect on protein stability.
