Aims And Background: Recording enamel rod end patterns can be considered an alternative to fingerprints, which are susceptible to decomposition or mutilation. The available literature revealed that limited research has been performed on the recording of enamel rod end patterns, and none has been performed on primary teeth. Hence, this observational study was performed with the aim of identifying and analyzing the different patterns of enamel rod endings of primary anterior teeth.

Introduction: The role of sealants for pits and fissures has been emphasized in caries prevention. Considering the advantages of a surface sealer and the effects of its application over restorative materials; the study is aimed at evaluating two pit and fissure sealants with a nanofilled resin coating.

Materials And Methods: In this double-blinded study, a total of 60 caries-free extracted third molars were collected and divided into two groups of 30 each receiving either a resin-based sealant (Helioseal F) or a glass ionomer-based sealant (GC Fuji VII).

Background: Triple antibiotic paste (TAP) is the commonly used intracanal medicament against . Amoxicillin clavulanate paste (ACP) is recommended as a "fall-back" antibiotic when traditional dental antibiotics fail. Literature comparing the antimicrobial efficacy of TAP and ACP in eradicating from the root canal system is sparse; hence, this study was conducted to evaluate and compare the antimicrobial efficacy of TAP and ACP as an intracanal medicament for endodontic treatment of single-rooted permanent teeth against

Materials And Methods: This , experimental study evaluated 60 root samples obtained from extracted single-rooted human permanent teeth.

Article Synopsis
  • Endodontic therapy focuses on disinfecting root canals, and this study investigates the use of an extract from a kernel as a potential irrigant for primary molars.
  • The research involved preparing a methanolic extract, testing its antimicrobial properties against controls, and evaluating its effectiveness in removing the smear layer using SEM.
  • Results show the kernel extract had significant antimicrobial activity, but its smear layer removal effectiveness was inferior compared to 17% EDTA, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses as a root canal irrigant.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the relationship of the level of salivary peptides human neutrophil defensin (HNP) 1-3 in children with and without early childhood caries (ECC).

Materials And Methods: This study was conducted among 86 children of age 3-6 years who were divided into two groups: Group 1 - children with ECC ( = 43) and Group 2 - children without ECC ( = 43). Saliva samples were collected, and salivary peptide HNP1-3 levels were analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Trauma with an accompanying fracture to the anterior teeth gives an agonizing experience for a young individual due to the physical disfigurement and the psychological impact that is imposed on them. This paper reports a case of complicated crown-root fracture in a young child that was treated by extra-oral fragment reattachment followed by the intentional reimplantation. The tooth was endodontically-treated followed by the placement of fiber-reinforced composite post.
