The emergence of correlated phenomena arising from the combination of 1T and 1H van der Waals layers is the focus of intense research. Here, we synthesize a self-stacked 6R phase in NbSeTe, showing perfect alternating 1T and 1H layers that grow coherently along the c-direction, as revealed by scanning transmission electron microscopy. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy shows a mixed contribution of the trigonal and octahedral Nb bands to the Fermi level.

It is well established that at [Formula: see text] filling the infinite-layer ([Formula: see text]) nickelate is metallic, in contrast to cuprates wherein an antiferromagnetic insulator is expected. We show that for the Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) reduced phases of the series (finite n) an antiferromagnetic insulating ground state can naturally be obtained instead at [Formula: see text] filling, due to the spacer RO[Formula: see text] fluorite slabs present in their structure that block the c-axis dispersion.

Accessing the regime of coherent phonon propagation in nanostructures opens enormous possibilities to control the thermal conductivity in energy harvesting devices, phononic circuits, etc. In this paper we show that coherent phonons contribute substantially to the thermal conductivity of LaCoO/SrTiO oxide superlattices, up to room temperature. We show that their contribution can be tuned through small variations of the superlattice periodicity, without changing the total superlattice thickness.

In this work we analyze how uniaxial pressure affects the topological character of BaSn[Formula: see text], a Dirac nodal-line semimetal in the absence of spin-orbit coupling. Using calculations based on the density functional theory and a model tight-binding Hamiltonian, we find the emergence of a second nodal line for pressures higher than 4 GPa.
