Objectives: Chronic skin diseases (CSD) may lead to productivity losses. This mixed-methods study investigated symptom severity, social challenges, need for workplace accommodation, sick leave and their association with perceived impaired work performance (IWP) among workers with CSD.
Methods: Data were collected from April to June 2023.
The aim of this retrospective study was to compare the histomorphometry of post-extractive sites previously grafted with deproteinized bovine bone, with or without the association of a calcium sulphate preparation. The retrospective evaluation comprehended patients previously selected and treated for the extraction of one or more mono-radicular teeth, followed by an implant-prosthetic rehabilitation. Post-extractive sites had been randomly assigned to test or control group, respectively, if deproteinized bovine bone was used in association with a calcium sulphate preparation or alone.

Methods: Review protocol was registered in PROSPERO. The search was conducted on MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases.
Background: Identifying liver ischemia is crucial in liver surgery. This study aimed to develop a hemi-hepatic ischemia model for assessing liver ischemia using single snapshot imaging of optical properties (SSOP), a noninvasive optical imaging modality that provides real-time measurements of tissue oxygen saturation (StO2).
Materials And Methods: Twelve swine were randomly assigned to two groups: One undergoing total vascular inflow occlusion (TVIO) and the other undergoing hepatic artery occlusion (HAO).
Holoprosencephaly (HPE) is one of the most common malformations in embryonic development. HPE represents a continuum spectrum that involves the midline cleavage of forebrain structures. Facial malformations of varying degrees of severity are also observed.

Furthermore, beef cattle genetic evaluation programs confront challenges with connectedness among herds and pedigree errors. The objective of this work was to evaluate the LR method's performance under pedigree errors and weak connectedness typical in beef cattle genetic evaluations, through simulation.

Fellowship programs for providers interested in specializing in pediatric neurocritical care are growing and developing to meet the needs of trainees and the patient populations that they serve. Fetal and neonatal neurocritical care fellowship remains a separate opportunity for training; however, inclusion of fetal and neonatal neurology education into pediatric neurocritical care broadens understanding of normal and pathologic anatomy and physiology, diagnostic interpretation of the developing brain, targeted management interventions, family counseling and prognostication, and long-term optimization of outcomes.

It comprises a handheld transducer that serves as a smartphone cradle coupled with an application and clinician's web-viewer dashboard. Recently, a novel capability was added to the system allowing offline fetal heart rate (FHR) and maximal vertical pocket (MVP) measurements.

This systematic review aimed to evaluate at-home protocols for proper oral hygiene and aligners cleaning during orthodontic treatment. A search was conducted using the following four databases: PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Scopus.

In HP lung fibroblasts, the gene expression of proteins involved in the interaction with the immune response, their isoforms, and how they influence their phenotype have yet to be elucidated. We analyzed the expression and splicing variants of 16 target genes involved in the interaction between HP fibroblasts and immune signaling and evaluated possible correlations with clinical data.

Aim: This systematic review aimed to evaluate, by means of statistical comparison between selected studies, the effectiveness of laser irradiation on dental erosion applied alone or in combination with anti-erosive agents (fluoride, Acidulated phosphate fluoride APF and CPP-amorphous calcium fluoride phosphate CPP-ACFP), through optical profilometry and microhardness measurement.
Methods: The searching strategy was conducted according to the International PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, to answer research ques-tions regarding the effectiveness of lasers used in the context of dental erosion (such as Nd:YAG, CO2, Er:YAG, Er,Cr:YSGG, Diode, and Argon Ion lasers). A comprehensive and unrestricted sys-tematic searching was performed using the electronic databases of PubMed and Cochrane Library, for all articles published up to the end of January 2023.

Protozoan parasite Neospora caninum causes abortion in infected cattle while others remain asymptomatic. Host immunity plays a critical role in the outcome of bovine neosporosis. Despite extensive research, there is a critical gap in therapeutic and preventive measures, and no effective vaccines are available.

Ozone therapy has shown promise in reducing oxidative stress and improving periodontal health. This study examined the impact of adjunctive gaseous ozone administration on salivary oxidative stress markers in patients with periodontitis stages II-IV and grades A-C undergoing non-surgical periodontal treatment (NSPT).

The aim of this review was to determine the effects of antidepressants on the periodontium. A literature search was conducted using electronic databases, Pubmed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, focusing on the use of antidepressants and their effects on periodontal health in animals or humans.

The study included 17 intrabony defects in 14 patients. BDA software (version 1) was used on radiographs to calculate RBG (in %) and variations in defect angle (in °) between baseline (T0) and 3-year follow-up (T1).

Gangliosides, sialic acid-containing glycosphingolipids, have been linked to different inflammatory conditions related to cardio- and neurodegenerative disorders. The role of gangliosides in platelet and leukocyte function, although reported, still needs further investigation.

A retrospective study was conducted in a tertiary medical center between 2017 and 2019. The study included women carrying a single infant with an estimated fetal weight below the tenth percentile in whom FGR was diagnosed during late pregnancy, after 32 gestational weeks (known late-onset FGR; study group) or only after birth (unknown FGR; control group).

Background: Prediction of outcomes in perinatal arterial ischemic stroke (PAIS) is challenging. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine whether infarct characteristics can predict outcomes in PAIS.
Methods: A systematic search was conducted using five databases in January 2023.
Fetal cerebral ventriculomegaly is one of the most common fetal neurological disorders identified prenatally by neuroimaging. The challenges in the evolving landscape of conditions like fetal cerebral ventriculomegaly involve accurate diagnosis and how best to provide prenatal counseling regarding prognosis as well as postnatal management and care of the infant. The purpose of this narrative review is to discuss the literature on fetal ventriculomegaly, including postnatal management and neurodevelopmental outcome, and to provide practice recommendations for pediatric neurologists.
