Objective: To determine the efficacy and safety of two different doses of intravesical mitoxantrone and of recombinant interferon-alpha (IFNalpha-2b), instilled after transurethral resection (TUR) of superficial transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder.
Material And Methods: 208 patients (mean age 62.05 years) with primary or recurrent superficial (TaG1, T1G1, T1G2) bladder cancer were randomly allocated into four groups, after TUR of all visible tumors.
Ganglioneuroma is a rare benign tumor, usually seen in children and young adults, arising in the central nervous system. Most of the noncranial ganglioneuromas are located in the posterior mediastinum and the retroperitoneum. We report the first case of a primary, adult paratesticular ganglioneuroma that presented as a paratesticular mass.

Although this clinical diagnostic problem has been described before, it is rather unusual that the clinical, roentgenographical, endoscopic, and even histopathologic evaluation could not exclude carcinoma with certainty.

Distinction between these two entities is essential, as treatment and outcome are entirely different.
Methods: In this retrospective study, records of 17 patients serologically diagnosed as suffering from B.

Prostate cancer is the most common cause of non-cutaneous cancer in men and a leading lethal malignancy with increasing incidence worldwide. Inevitably, all patients will develop androgen-independent disease, which remains the main obstacle to improving survival. Unfortunately, existing first and second line hormonal treatment are condemned to extent survival for only a few years.

We present an extremely rare case of torsion of an inguinal undescended testis in a 35-year-old patient with Down's syndrome. Surgical exploration revealed a rotated gangrenous testis, radical orchiectomy was performed, and pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of testicular torsion.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTorsion of the testis is the most common urological emergency and should be included in the differential diagnosis of scrotal trauma. Clinical suspicion of testicular torsion is a serious indication for prompt surgical exploration of post-traumatic acute scrotum. A case of post-traumatic testicular torsion, which resulted in orchiectomy, is presented and literature is reviewed.

This extremely rare complication requires high clinical suspicion and responds well to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and conservative management.

We present our diagnostic and minimally invasive therapeutic algorithm for the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
Materials And Methods: A total of 13 females and 9 males with a mean age of 34.
We describe a case of a 70-year-old patient with sudden onset of gait ataxia, headache, dizziness and dysarthria. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a solitary lesion in the left cerebellar hemisphere with strong and irregular enhancement of the contrast medium, surrounded by extensive edema. Rectal examination revealed an abnormally enlarged and stiff left prostate lobe, and ultrasound-guided transrectal biopsies showed prostate adenocarcinoma of mild differentiation.

MAP kinases (MAPKs) are a group of protein kinases with an important function in integrating physiological and pathological stimuli that might impact on cellular growth, differentiation and programmed cell death (apoptosis). Certain components of the MAPK signal-transduction pathways are involved in stimulus-specific fine-tuning of the activities mediated by the various MAPK families.
