Myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is a clinical entity characterized by the absence of significant coronary artery obstruction in epicardial arteries (<50%) on coronary angiography in the setting of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). This article aims to provide a narrative review of the pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic challenges, and prognosis associated with MINOCA based on pathophysiology regarding the atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic causes. Etiological factors, including thromboembolism, coronary artery spasm, spontaneous coronary artery dissection, coronary microvascular disease, and supply-demand mismatch, are addressed.

Objective: Treating iron deficiency (ID) with ferric carboxymaltose (FCM) in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) enhances morbidity, quality of life (QoL), and exercise capacity.
Methods: In the presented single-center, prospective follow-up study, symptomatic patients with HFrEF with ID and CIEDs scheduled for IV FCM were followed up for 12-months. Arrhythmic activity was evaluated from CIEDs and non-invasive markers from Holter recordings before and after FCM.
Purpose: Heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are highly prevalent in hemodialysis. They are well-known significant modifiers of the disease associations with cardiovascular outcomes, but there is a lack of evidence regarding the effects of HF and AF on cardiorespiratory fitness. This study is the first to examine the possible association of the presence of HF and AF with exercise intolerance in patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Based on 54 ribosome profiling (Ribo-Seq) datasets, we investigated the yeast Ribo-Seq landscape using a representation framework that allows the comprehensive inventory and classification of the entire diversity of Ribo-Seq signals, including non-canonical ones.
Results: We show that if coding regions occupy specific areas of the Ribo-Seq landscape, noncoding regions encompass a wide diversity of Ribo-Seq signals and, conversely, populate the entire landscape.

Transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) is a well-established and valid imaging modality, providing more accurate and of higher quality information than transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) for several specific diagnoses and recently a useful guide of an increasing number of catheter-based and surgical interventions. The present paper represents an effort by the Echocardiography Working Group (WG) of the Hellenic Society of Cardiology to state the essential steps of the TOE exam performed beyond the echo lab: a) in the operating rooms intraoperatively during either transcatheter interventions, or cardiothoracic surgery and b) in the intensive care unit for critically ill patients' monitoring. Materials And Methods: Forty human incisors, extracted and prepared, were acquired for this study and subsequently randomized into four groups (n = 10). The control group specimens underwent no pretreatment prior to the bleaching procedure, whereas the remaining three groups underwent air abrasion using distinct desensitizing powders; (a) Sylc, which contains bioglass 45S5; (b) BioMinF, which contains calcium phospho-fluoro-silicate glass; and (c) MI Pearls, which contains nano-hydroxyapatite, 1 h preceding the Opalescence Boost PF 40% bleaching procedure.

Aims: The impact of newly detected diabetes mellitus (NDDM) on metabolic parameters and extent of myocardial necrosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is not fully explored. We examined the impact of NDDM on cardiometabolic characteristics and myocardial necrosis in ACS patients.
Methods: CALLINICUS-Hellas Registry is an ongoing prospective multicenter observational study evaluating the adherence to lipid-lowering therapy (LLT) among ACS patients in Greece.
This is a case of a 59-year-old man presenting with myopericarditis. Over a 2-week period, he developed progressive symptoms and worsening pericardial effusion, leading to cardiac tamponade. Pericardiocentesis revealed hemopericardium, and multidetector computed tomography angiography showed left ventricular free wall rupture.
