Introduction: Despite the well-documented benefits of smoking cessation interventions, the implementation and success of these programs in primary care settings often encounter significant barriers. A primary care provider's personal smoking status has been identified as a potential barrier to tobacco treatment delivery. The aim of this qualitative study is to explore the experiences and perspectives of primary care providers regarding their role in delivering smoking cessation interventions to patients based on their personal smoking status.

Development and pilot evaluation of an evidence-based algorithm for MASLD (formerly NAFLD) management in primary care in Europe.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly NAFLD), emerges as major cause of morbidity and mortality globally, with chronic patients facing increased risk. Guidelines on MASLD management in primary care (PC) are limited. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a clinical care pathway for use in PC to improve MASLD screening and management, including early detection, communication and treatment, in three European countries (Greece, Spain, the Netherlands).

Practice Recommendations for the Management of MASLD in Primary Care: Consensus Results.

Background: Despite its high prevalence and impact on health, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is inadequately addressed in European primary care (PC), with a large proportion of cases going undiagnosed or diagnosed too late. A multi-country European research consortium led a project to design and evaluate a patient-centered, integrated model for MASLD screening, diagnosis, and linkage to specialty care for European PC settings. Based on the lessons from this project, the latest research evidence, and existing guidelines for the management of MASLD, we sought to develop a set of practice recommendations for screening, referral, and management of MASLD in PC.

Isolated Tear of the Vastus Lateralis Tendon: A Rare Case Managed Conservatively.

Introduction: Isolated ruptures of the vastus lateralis (VL) tendon are exceptionally rare, with few reported cases in the orthopedic literature. This case report sheds light on non-surgical management for partial VL tendon ruptures, providing insight into an alternative treatment pathway that avoids surgical intervention.

Giant Lipoma in the Index Finger of a 60-Year-Old Patient: A Rare Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Introduction: Lipomas are the most common benign mesenchymal tumors found on the head, neck, shoulder, and back, but they are rarely encountered in the fingers, constituting <1% of such tumors.

Case Report: This case report presents an exceptional location of a giant lipoma on the proximal phalanx of a 60-year-old Caucasian male's rightindex finger, alongside a literature review that identified 20 similar cases. The patient, with no significant health issues, reported that the growthhad been asymptomatic for 2 years before seeking consultation due to aesthetic concerns and impaired finger extension.

Improving tobacco cessation interventions in hospitals: Pre-post evaluation of an innovative health systems intervention in Catalonia (Spain).

This study measured changes in healthcare professionals' (HCPs) performance in tobacco cessation intervention before and 6 months after a health system intervention. The intervention involved exposure to online training for staff and the implementation of a structured organizational change-level practice model that included some strategies, comprising establishing tobacco cessation steering groups with champions in each hospital, developing tailored protocols and guidelines within each organization, conducting on-site workshops for clinicians, and creating posters and pocket materials summarizing the intervention. Background: The potential of copper nanoparticles (Cu-NPs) to be used as an alternative control strategy against olive fruit flies (Bactrocera oleae) with reduced sensitivity to the pyrethroid deltamethrin and the impact of both nanosized and bulk copper hydroxide (Cu(OH)) on the insect's reproductive and endosymbiotic parameters were investigated.

Results: The application of nanosized and bulk copper applied by feeding resulted in significant levels of adult mortality, comparable to or surpassing those achieved with deltamethrin at recommended doses. The management and underlying causes of patellar periprosthetic fractures (PPF) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) constitute an issue of growing importance given the rising frequency of these procedures. Patella periprosthetic fractures, though relatively rare, pose significant challenges and are a frequent indication for revision surgeries. This association may have an underlying inflammatory component, as consumption of a WSD during pregnancy can lead to an elevated inflammatory environment. Our group previously demonstrated that prenatal WSD exposure was associated with increased markers of inflammation in the placenta and fetal hypothalamus in Japanese macaques.

We sought to rapidly develop, pilot test, and deploy an eLearning intervention on skills training on effective techniques for addressing COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy for primary health and social care professionals in Greece.

Additionally, we analyzed studies regarding cervical epidural abscesses and performed a review of the literature.

Quadriceps tendon ruptures are common injuries, however isolated ruptures are rare. Particularly, reports for isolated vastus intermedius ruptures are very scarce. We present a case of a 62-years-old male patient who sustained a complete rupture of vastus intermedius tendon with a partial rupture of vastus medialis while rectus femoris tendon was intact, after a fall from standing height.
