Here, we describe the case of a 74-year-old male patient with a high-risk prostate carcinoma who underwent positron-emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) with [Ga]Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen ([Ga]Ga-PSMA-11) for staging. [Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT detected an extensive area of increased tracer uptake at the prostatic level, involving both lobes. Additionally, a rounded lesion approximately 4 cm in diameter was identified in the celiac region adjacent to the stomach, exhibiting moderate tracer uptake.

We present the case of a 60-year-old male with recurrent atypical meningioma in the right parietal lobe, previously treated with surgery and radiation therapy. Background: Left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction is a common, often fatal complication of transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR). Laceration of the anterior mitral leaflet to prevent outflow obstruction (LAMPOON) was safe and effective at preventing LVOT obstruction at 30 days in the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute LAMPOON trial.
Objectives: The authors report the 5-year outcomes of intentional anterior mitral leaflet laceration before SAPIEN 3 TMVR, in patients at risk of LVOT obstruction.
Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) occurs commonly after cardiac surgery and is associated with multiple adverse outcomes. Older randomized trials suggested that perioperative β- blockade reduced postoperative AF, and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) composite measure includes β-blocker administration preoperatively within 24 hours of surgery and at discharge. However, some more recent studies suggest preoperative β-blockade has limited value and question its continuation as an STS quality measure.

[F]FDG PET/CT detected multiple cervical and mediastinal lymph nodal lesions with increased tracer uptake, whereas [F]fluorocholine PET/CT detected increased tracer uptake on cervical and mediastinal lymph nodal lesions and bone and lung lesions with a better evaluation of metastatic spread. Due to these imaging findings, the patient underwent systemic treatment with chemotherapy.

Objectives: The authors report the initial experience of a novel transcatheter electrosurgical procedure developed to mimic surgical myotomy.
Objective: Professional standards recommend stopping cardiotomy suction at the termination of cardiopulmonary bypass before protamine administration based on perceived safety concerns. This study evaluated a multidisciplinary collaborative quality-improvement intervention promoting this agreed-upon cardiotomy suction practice during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

The use of hybrid PET/MR imaging for radiotherapy treatment planning has the potential to reduce tumor and organ displacements caused by different scan times and setup changes. Although with mixed results mainly due to single-center studies with small sample size, PET/MR imaging could provide better target delineation, especially by reducing coregistration discrepancies on computed tomography simulation scan and offering better soft tissue contrast. The main limitation to drive stronger conclusions is due to the relatively low availability of hybrid PET/MR imaging systems, mainly limited to large academic centers.

In this report, we describe a case of persistent cognitive deficits developed after SARS-CoV-2 infection in a 40-year-old woman with a family history of early-onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD) since her father was diagnosed with EOAD at the age of 50. We describe the clinical picture and workup, with special emphasis on the alterations of brain glucose metabolism evidenced by 18-fluoro-deoxy-glucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET), which could be considered a useful marker of the presence and persistence of cognitive deficits.
