Background: Recently, the PORT-C and LUNG-ART trials, which evaluated the role of postoperative radiation therapy (PORT), have significantly altered the treatment landscape for NSCLC pN2 patients who previously underwent surgery. In response, the Italian Association of Radiotherapy and Oncology Thoracic Oncology study group has initiated an observational multicenter trial to assess both acute and late toxicities of PORT in pN2 NSCLC patients treated with modern techniques.

Background: The Study Group for the Biology and Treatment of the OligoMetastatic Disease on behalf of the Italian Association of Radiotherapy and Clinical Oncology (AIRO) has conducted a national survey with the aim to depict the current patterns of practice of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for spinal oligometastases.

Background: The interest in acetate and propionate as short chain fatty acids (SCFA) derives from research on alternative strategies to the utilization of antibiotics in pig farms. Currently, the main limitation for the use of adult differentiated chondrocytes in cell-based therapy and tissue engineering for the repair of articular cartilage is the difficulty of maintaining their state of differentiation during cell expansion. The adult articular cartilage has no direct blood supply, and local oxygen concentrations range from 5%-10% at the surface near the synovial fluid to less than 1% in the deep layer. Low oxygen tension is currently considered an important environmental condition for chondrocytes, and hypoxia has been explored as a signal potentially promoting differentiation and matrix deposition.
