Objectives: In the Bland and Altman analysis of agreement studies, there is some controversy whether "to plot the differences between the Standard/actual measurement method and the test/new measurement method against their mean" or "to plot the differences against the standard method". Of course, this is not just a "graphic dispute" as a regression model is inherent in the graphical choice to test the proportional and systematic biases.

Methods: We revised two relevant papers claiming to plot the differences against the standard and outlined their pitfalls taking into account the underlying statistical methodology.

Incorporating the perspectives of positive psychology, intersectionality, and life course into minority stress theory, this study aimed to examine the relationships between social support, identity affirmation, and psychological well-being among 483 Italian individuals with bisexual orientation, accounting for differences in gender identity (cisgender vs. non-binary) and age groups (young, early, and middle adult). A mediation model was tested in which identity affirmation served as a presumed mediator between social support and psychological well-being.

Background: Radical surgical resection of the primary tumor with mono/bilateral inguinofemoral lymph node dissection is the standard treatment for invasive vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (VSCC) and is frequently related to severe morbidity. Tailoring surgical treatment is of paramount importance, and a comprehensive preoperative evaluation is mandatory. Vascular endothelial growth factor D (VEGF-D) is considered a regulator of lymphangiogenesis involved in tumor spread lymphatic vessels.

Like the slogan of the American Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine says, "No injury, no matter how serious, can take away your ability to have a relationship, experience love, and experience the attraction between two people." However, people with spinal cord injury (SCI) have to fight with their own and societal attitudes and stereotypes that limit sexuality to the physiological functions of genitalia, phallocentric primacy of sexual pleasure, and sexual attractiveness of perfect bodies. The scope of the present study is to evaluate the impacts of a psychoeducational intervention in a personal growth group on the sexual life of seven people with SCI and four of their partners particularly their sexual interest and satisfaction, depression, and anxiety.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of maternal antenatal attachment and post-partum psychopathology, maternal-infant bonding, while checking for antenatal psychopathology, for lifetime psychiatric diagnosis and for the known risk factors for peripartum depression.

Methods: One hundred and six women recruited at the first month of pregnancy (T0) were evaluated with the structured interview for DSM-IV TR (SCID-I) to assess the presence of lifetime psychiatric diagnosis and with the Perinatal Depression Predictor Inventory-Revised (PDPI-R), the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). At the sixth month of pregnancy (T1) and at the first month post-partum (T2), all patients were evaluated with the PDPI-R, the EPDS, the STAI, at T1, with the Maternal Antenatal Attachment Scale (MAAS), and at T2 with the Maternal Postnatal Attachment Scale (MPAS).

Sample size calculations based on too narrow a width, or with lower and upper confidence limits bounded by fixed cut-off points, not only increase power-based sample sizes to ethically unacceptable levels (thus making research practically unfeasible) but also greatly increase the costs and burdens of clinical trials. We propose an alternative method of combining the power of a statistical test and the probability of obtaining adequate precision (the power of the confidence interval) with an acceptable increase in power-based sample sizes.

The problem of characterizing and estimating the radiometric noise of satellite high spectral resolution infrared spectrometers from Earth views is addressed in this paper. A methodology has been devised which is based on the common concept of spectral residuals (Observations-Calculations) obtained after spectral radiance inversion for atmospheric and surface parameters. An in-depth analytical assessment of the statistical covariance matrix of the spectral residuals has been performed which is based on the optimal estimation theory.

Assessing couple relationships across diverse languages and cultures has important implications for both clinical intervention and prevention. This is especially true for nontraditional relationships potentially subject to various expressions of negative societal evaluation or bias. Few empirically validated measures of relationship functioning have been developed for cross-cultural applications, and none have been examined for their psychometric sufficiency for evaluating same-sex couples across different languages and cultures.
