Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is increasingly performed for symptom relief and survival benefit, particularly in patients presenting with acute coronary syndromes. It remains controversial whether prior PCI, and specifically when index PCI is performed on previously treated lesion(s), affects peri-procedural and in-hospital mortality. We queried an institutional PCI registry for all unique patients undergoing PCI during a 4-year period and classified them as having had or not prior PCI.

Gilteritinib is approved for the treatment of relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with an FLT3-mutation (FLT3 ). However, the gilteritinib phase 3 ADMIRAL study (Perl et al NEJM 2019) was conducted prior to widespread adoption of either midostaurin as a component of standard intensive induction and consolidation or posttransplant FLT3 inhibitor maintenance. We performed a retrospective analysis using data from 11 US centers and where we identified 113 patients who received gilteritinib alone or as combination therapy for the treatment of R/R FLT3 AML.

Coronary artery calcification (CAC) may provide insight to the patients' coronary artery disease (CAD) risks and influence early intervention. With increasing use of non-gated CT scans in clinical practice, the visual coronary artery scoring system (Weston Method) could quickly provide clinicians with important information of CAC for patient triage and management. We retrospectively studied the available CT imaging data and estimated CAC burden using the Weston method in 493 emergency room or other hospitalized patients.

Objective: To identify patients undergoing complex, high-risk indicated percutaneous coronary intervention (CHIP-PCI) and compare their outcomes with non-CHIP patients. We created a CHIP score to risk stratify these patients.

Background: Risk stratification of PCI patients remains difficult because most scoring systems reflect hemodynamic instability and predict early mortality.
