A rare case report on endodontic management of calcified structures within large periapical pathology: An 8-year follow-up outcome.

Periapical lesions with mixed radiographic appearance can have odontogenic or nonodontogenic origin. A number of neoplastic lesions either benign or malignant can present as radiolucent, radiopaque, or mixed in jaws and if present near the root apices can be misdiagnosed as odontogenic infection/etiology. The present case report describes a rare case of two elongated radiopaque structures within periapical pathology located beneath the apices of mandibular central incisors in a 26-year-old male.

Association Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Tumor Characteristics in Breast Cancer Patients.

Introduction Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer among women worldwide, but there is little literature regarding the effects of vitamin D on breast cancer patients in the Indian population. Hence, this study was planned to determine the correlation between vitamin D deficiency and tumor characteristics in breast cancer patients. Methods This was a cross-sectional study conducted in a tertiary healthcare facility in central India among all newly diagnosed patients with breast carcinoma who had received primary surgery and pathological confirmation.

Improved bladder cancer antitumor efficacy with a recombinant BCG that releases a STING agonist.

Despite the introduction of several new agents for the treatment of bladder cancer (BC), intravesical BCG remains a first line agent for the management of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. In this study we evaluated the antitumor efficacy in animal models of BC of a recombinant BCG known as BCG--OE that releases the small molecule STING agonist c-di-AMP. We found that compared to wild-type BCG (BCG-WT), in both the orthotopic, carcinogen-induced rat MNU model and the heterotopic syngeneic mouse MB-49 model BCG--OE afforded improved antitumor efficacy.

Spatio-temporal assessment of COVID-19 lockdown impact on beach litter status and composition in Goa, India.

The study aimed to understand beach litter status at some of the world-famous beaches of Goa, West India, to comprehend the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown. We characterize litter in six categories (Nylon+Rubber, Plastics, Footwear, Glass, Metal, and Thermocol) for eight sampled beaches in the north and south Goa. All beaches show increased glass and decreased plastics (significant litter) during the lockdown period compared to the unlock period that marked the high tourist inflow.

Suitability of Google Trends™ for Digital Surveillance During Ongoing COVID-19 Epidemic: A Case Study from India.

Objective: Digital surveillance has shown mixed results as a supplement to traditional surveillance. Google Trends™ (GT) (Google, Mountain View, CA, United States) has been used for digital surveillance of H1N1, Ebola and MERS. We used GT to correlate the information seeking on COVID-19 with number of tests and cases in India.
