Introduction: Transurethral Resection of Prostate (TURP) is the most common treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Article Synopsis
  • Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the main method for treating kidney stones, and this study focuses on how it affects kidney volume and function (GFR) before and after the procedure.
  • The research involved 70 patients from a urology department in Eastern India, where ultrasonography was used to measure kidney volume and GFR before and after PCNL.
  • Results indicated a significant decrease in both kidney volume and GFR after the surgery, with single puncture PCNL showing better outcomes than multiple punctures in terms of preserving kidney function.
