Establishing a nonzero measurement of the electron Electric Dipole Moment (eEDM) has long been a fundamental pursuit in atomic, molecular and optical physics, offering possible insights into new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this regard, lead monofluoride (PbF) has emerged as a potential candidate for measuring eEDM primarily due to its suitable properties such as the strong internal effective electric field, and eEDM-sensitive ground state with large Ω-doubling and small magnetic g factor. This study introduces a completely Random Quality Control (R-QC) method for Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) tests and compares it with traditional Fixed Quality Control (F-QC) methods across different testing items. A random quality control system was constructed using a Time-series model, enabling fully random positioning of quality control in ELISA tests. The Coefficient of Variation (CV) for R-QC were found to be lower as compared to F-QC in Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), anti-Human Immunodeficiency Virus (anti-HIV), and Treponema Pallidum (TP) items, and there were significant differences among them.

Hypertension is one of the major risk factors for morbidity and mortality worldwide. In this study, Mendelian randomization was utilized to investigate how dietary supplement intake can impact hypertension based on circulating plasma metabolite genome-wide association study (GWAS) datasets, protein quantitative trait loci (pQTLs) of plasma proteins, and multiple public summary-level GWAS data. Sleep deprivation (SD) disrupts circadian rhythms; however, its effects on SD and the mechanisms involved require further investigation. Previous studies on SD were mainly conducted on rodents, such as mice, with few studies on its effects on the liver of large diurnal animals, such as sheep. It has been established that N-acetyltransferase (murine NAT1 (mNAT1) and human NAT2 (hNAT2)) mediates insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetes. Here we show that mNAT1 deficiency leads to a decrease in cellular spermidine-a natural polyamine exhibiting health-protective and anti-ageing effects-but understanding of its mechanism is limited. We identify that mNAT1 and hNAT2 modulate a type of post-translational modification involving acetylated spermidine, which we name acetylhypusination, on receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 (RIPK1)-a key regulator of inflammation and cell death.
