Introduction: The dentoskeletal effects of clear aligner treatment (CAT) with Invisalign vs temporary skeletal anchorage device-anchored Sydney intrusion spring (SIS) were compared in consecutively treated growing patients with anterior open bite using cone-beam computed tomography scans.
Methods: Fifteen adolescents treated exclusively with Invisalign, and 14 with SIS (first-phase treatment) were assessed retrospectively. Rigid-wise, voxel-based registration of pretreatment and posttreatment cone-beam computed tomography scans were performed using the anterior cranial base, maxillary plane, and mandibular body as reference regions.

Purpose: The prevalence of gingival recession in orthodontically treated patients and the relative impact of retainer type on its occurrence remain poorly understood. The objective of this study was to investigate the association between previous orthodontic treatment and retainer type on the long-term prevalence of gingival recession and to evaluate the role of other patient-related factors, such as gender, age, smoking and gingival phenotype.
Materials And Methods: We included subjects both with and without a history of previous orthodontics (at least 5 years post-treatment).

Material And Methods: Patients aged 12 years and above, who had recently completed comprehensive orthodontic treatment, participated completing two questionnaires: a 37-item questionnaire, validated for assessing orthodontic treatment satisfaction; and the 5-item Satisfaction with Life Scale, a valid and reliable measure of life satisfaction. Objectives: The aim of this cross-sectional survey was to assess oral health, including prevalence of periodontitis and rate of tooth loss, in a Swedish cohort of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Methods: A questionnaire on general anamnestic and socio-economic aspects, IBD diagnosis, and various oral health aspects was distributed online. The analyses focused on the comparison between patients diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) or Crohn's disease (CD) as well as on factors associated with self-reported severe periodontitis and tooth loss.
Aims: To evaluate where orthodontic research papers are published and to explore potential relationships between the journal of publication and the characteristics of the research study and authorship.
Methods: An online literature search of seven research databases was undertaken to identify orthodontic articles published in English language over a 12-month period (1 January-31 December 2022) (last search: 12 June 2023). Data extracted included journal, article, and author characteristics.

Introduction: The objective of this study was to investigate the accuracy of palatal miniscrew insertion, evaluating the effect of guide fabrication and surgical placement.
Methods: Guided insertion of bilateral paramedian palatal miniscrews was undertaken using Appliance Designer software (3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark). A resin surgical guide (P Pro Surgical Guide; Straumann AG, Basel, Switzerland) was used.
Objectives: To investigate the dimensional stability of various 3D-printed models derived from resin and plant-based, biodegradable plastics (PLA) under specific storage conditions for a period of up to 21 weeks.
Materials And Methods: Four different printing materials, including Draft V2, study model 2, and Ortho model OD01 resins as well as PLA mineral, were evaluated over a 21-week period. Eighty 3D-printed models were divided equally into two groups, with one group stored in darkness and the other exposed to daylight.
Post-treatment change in the form of true relapse and physiological and maturational effects is common following orthodontics. The unpredictable nature of these manifestations dictates a conservative, near-universal approach to retention. Both fixed and removable forms of retention are popular with the latter constrained by variable levels of adherence particularly in the medium- to long-term.
