For gene delivery application, dendrimers are considered as efficient carrier due to their cationic nature and well-defined surface groups. However, they are not well explored for topical delivery.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmune-mediated diseases are emerging as a major healthcare concern in the present era. TNF-α, a proinflammatory cytokine, plays a major role in the manifestation of these diseases by mediating different pathways and inducing the expression of other cytokines. In last decades, monoclonal antibodies and extracellular portion of human TNF-α receptors are explored in this area; however, the risk of immunological response and undesired effects urge a need to develop more effective therapies to control TNF-α levels.

L-Arginine phosphate (LAP) and methylene blue dye admixtured L-arginine phosphate single crystals were grown by slow cooling technique and their cell parameters, crystalline perfection, dopant inclusion were confirmed by single crystal, powder X-ray diffraction and high resolution X-ray diffraction analyses respectively. The modes of vibrations of different functional groups present in pure and dye admixtured LAP crystals have been identified by FTIR spectral analysis. The UV-Vis-NIR spectral study was performed on the grown crystals and found that the crystals are transparent in the entire visible-NIR region.

The role of surface activity has been studied in the biological actions of ranitidine (RNT) and famotidine (FMT). The drugs have been shown to generate liquid membranes in series with a supporting membrane with the virtue of their amphiphilicity. Transport of histamine, acetylcholine, and ions (chloride, bicarbonate, potassium, sodium and calcium) have been studied in the presence of liquid membranes generated by surface-active RNT and FMT.
