The versatile nature of the urease enzyme makes it a valuable asset in biological and industrial contexts. The creation of bioconjugates using enzyme-polymer combinations has extended the shelf life and stability of urease. A triblock copolymer, PAM-co-PDPA-co-PMAA@urease (ADM@urease), was synthesized using acrylamide (AM), 2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-ylacrylate (DPA), methacrylic acid (MAA), and urease via the RAFT-Grafting-To polymerization method.

Introduction And Importance: Transverse testicular ectopia (TTE) is a rare congenital anomaly in which both testes descend into the same inguinal canal and are located in the same hemiscrotum. Diagnosing TTE can be challenging due to its rarity and unusual presentation.

Case Presentation: The authors present a case of a male in his 50s who was diagnosed with left transverse testicular ectopia after presenting with an empty right hemiscrotum and two testes-like masses in the left hemiscrotum.

Scale-up and transfer of lyophilization processes remain very challenging tasks considering the technical challenges and the high cost of the process itself. The challenges in scale-up and transfer were discussed in the first part of this paper and include vial breakage during freezing at commercial scale, cake resistance differences between scales, impact of differences in refrigeration capacities, and geometry on the performance of dryers. The second part of this work discusses successful and unsuccessful practices in scale-up and transfer based on the experience of the authors.

The OSU/PNNL Superfund Research Program (SRP) represents a longstanding collaboration to quantify Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) at various superfund sites in the Pacific Northwest and assess their potential impact on human health. To link the chemical measurements to biological activity, we describe the use of the zebrafish as a high-throughput developmental toxicity model that provides quantitative measurements of the exposure to chemicals. Toward this end, we have linked over 150 PAHs found at Superfund sites to the effect of these same chemicals in zebrafish, creating a rich dataset that links environmental exposure to biological response.
