Introduction: Although the burden of cervical cancer in Africa is highest, HPV vaccination coverage remains alarmingly low in this region. Providers' knowledge and recommendation are key drivers of HPV vaccination uptake. Yet, evidence about providers' knowledge and recommendation practices about the HPV vaccine against a backdrop of emerging vaccine hesitancy fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic is lacking in Africa.

Background: We examined the awareness, interest, and information sources relating to cannabis use for cancer management (including management of cancer symptoms and treatment-related side effects) and determined factors associated with cancer survivors' awareness and interest in learning about cannabis use for cancer management.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of adult cancer survivors (N = 1886) receiving treatment at a comprehensive cancer center. Weighted prevalence and multivariable logistic regression analyses were conducted.

Xanthogranulomatous Oophoritis: A Rare Case Report.

Xanthogranulomatous oophoritis is a rare, chronic and non-neoplastic condition in which a heavy foamy histiocyte inflammatory infiltrate admixed with neutrophils, plasma cells, multinucleated giant cells, fibroblasts and foci of necrosis causing extensive tissue damage and organ destruction. The gallbladder and kidney are just two examples of the different organs that exhibit histological changes resembling xanthogranulomatous alteration. The present case involved a 40-year-old female who presented with a tuboovarian mass and was ultimately diagnosed with xanthogranulomatous oophritis, despite initial clinicoradiological suspicions for malignancy.

Background: A new generation of enhanced monofocal IOLs has been introduced to slightly increase the depth of focus as compared to standard monofocal IOLs. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of pupil size on the through-focus optical performance of three new enhanced monofocal IOLs, designed to improve the range of vision as compared to standard monofocal IOLs.

We have used an integrated computational approach to explore the role of vitamin C and vitamin D in preventing aggregation of Fibrinogen A alpha-chain (FGA) protein responsible for renal amyloidosis. We modelled structures of E524K / E526K mutants of FGA protein and examined the potential interactions of these mutants with vitamin C and vitamin D3. Interaction of these vitamins at the amyloidogenic site may prevent the intermolecular interaction required for amyloid formation.

A man in his 20s who had previously experienced multiple episodes of transient loss of consciousness, majorly attributable to the seizures, presented with a 1-month history of increased seizure frequency, high-grade fever and weight loss. Clinically, he had postural instability, bradykinesia and symmetrical cogwheel rigidity. His investigations revealed hypocalcaemia, hyperphosphataemia, inappropriately normal intact parathyroid hormone, metabolic alkalosis, normomagnesemic magnesium depletion, and increased plasma renin activity and serum aldosterone concentration.

Background: An increasing number of observational studies have reported the persistence of symptoms following recovery from acute COVID-19 disease in non-cancer patients. The long-term consequences of COVID-19 are not fully understood particularly in the cancer patient population. The purpose of this study is to assess post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) in cancer patients following acute COVID-19 recovery.

International multicenter study comparing COVID-19 in patients with cancer to patients without cancer: Impact of risk factors and treatment modalities on survivorship.

Background: In this international multicenter study, we aimed to determine the independent risk factors associated with increased 30 day mortality and the impact of cancer and novel treatment modalities in a large group of patients with and without cancer with COVID-19 from multiple countries.

Methods: We retrospectively collected de-identified data on a cohort of patients with and without cancer diagnosed with COVID-19 between January and November 2020 from 16 international centers.

Results: We analyzed 3966 COVID-19 confirmed patients, 1115 with cancer and 2851 without cancer patients.
