It was shown that the exposure of seeds in the rest phase to a low-frequency pulse electromagnetic field leads to substantial changes in seed physiology during germination. The changes at the physiological level in sprouting seeds depend not only on the frequency of the external EMF and its power characteristics but also on the kind of seeds. Low- and high-frequency electromagnetic fields are able to produce a biostimulation effect; however, the mechanisms of its appearance are different in their nature.

The effects of alaptide, a new analog of melanostatine, on self-stimulation of the lateral hypothalamus, rotation behavior in rotometer, and stereotypy were studied in rats bred in social isolation from other animals beginning from the 17th day of birth and rats bred in groups. Alaptide potentiated amphetamine-stimulated behavior only in rats reared in social isolation. This effect was lateralized: the left rotation dominated.

The present study aimed to compare the effects of various abused drugs on threshold current intensities and the breaking points of intracranial self-stimulation. Effects of morphine (1-10 mg/kg, s.c.

Initial and phenamine-stimulated frequencies of self-stimulation of the lateral hypothalamus were not significantly different in rats reared in communities and in conditions of social isolation. Unilateral lesioning of the ventral tegmental area and the medial prefrontal cortex in early ontogenesis increased phenamine sensitivity only in isolated rats. The dopamine receptor agonist apomorphine, at a dose of 0.

In rats bred in groups or under conditions of social isolation, amphetamine administration did not change significantly the basic rate of hypothalamic self-stimulation. The unilateral lesions of ventral tegmental area and medial prefrontal cortex in the early ontogeny (on the 17th day after birth) increased the sensitivity to amphetamine only in isolated rats. Apomorphine, the dopamine receptor agonist, in the dose which mainly affected the presynaptic receptors (0.

60 patients surgically treated for acute pancreatitis received postoperative physiotherapy which combined transcutaneous electroneurostimulation with exposure to low-energy laser. The results support the effectiveness of combined physiotherapeutic methods of general and reflex action in severe forms of acute pancreatitis because such physiotherapy early after severe forms of acute pancreatitis because such physiotherapy early after severe pancreatitis surgery promotes the decline of pathological symptoms.

An effectiveness of treatment and prevention of ischemic heart disease (IHD) using laser rays and transcutaneous electroneurostimulation (TENS) in 144 patients who underwent myocardial infarction and in whose clinical characteristics of a disease there prevailed chronic painful syndrome, was studied. An analgesic effect of TENS was achieved by an application of TENS to cardiac area and Zakharin-Head's zones. Low-intensity laser rays were applied for both irradiating projections of the heart and the large vessels and irradiating the biologically active points using unique procedure.

The principle 'rehabilitation starts in a resuscitation ward' has been realized in the resuscitation treatment of 34 patients with the prolonged crush syndrome (PCS) who were injured during the earthquake in Armenia. Laser therapy has been fairly effective, normalizing the external respiration function and central hemodynamics and reducing the blood coagulability. Instrumental vibration massage and acupuncture are recommended to be added to rehabilitation treatment of PCS patients.

Brief clinical characteristics and microscopic structure of a peculiar focal granulomatosis, macrophagal affection of the urinary bladder mucous membrane, are described. Microscopically, malacoplakia of the urinary bladder has a zonal structure the presence of which is important for differential diagnosis from some tumours, particularly myoma consisting of myoblasts and malignant histiocytoma. The presence of small rounded basophilic inclusions (Mikhaelis--Gutmann bodies) is a characteristic feature of malacoplakia.
