Background: Desmoid tumors, also known as aggressive fibromatosis, are extremely rare, accounting for less than 3% of soft-tissue sarcomas and less than 0,03% of all neoplasms. The diagnosis is usually delayed because of the lack of specific symptoms, and can sometimes lead to serious and, even fatal complications.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a 27-year-old male patient presenting with the clinical picture of acute appendicitis.
Objective: To estimate the diagnostic accuracy of a two-stage strategy for early prediction of morbidly adherent placenta (MAP). In the first stage, at 11-13 weeks' gestation, women with low-lying placenta and history of uterine surgery are classified as being at high risk for MAP and, in the second stage, at 12-16 weeks, these high-risk pregnancies are assessed at a specialist MAP clinic.
Methods: This was a prospective study in women having an ultrasound scan at 11-13 weeks' gestation as a part of routine pregnancy care.
Objective: To evaluate interobserver agreement in assessment of ultrasound signs and histopathologic findings associated with placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using data for patients prenatally diagnosed with PAS disorders at a UK hospital between January 31, 2012, and March 30, 2017. Ultrasound images (including gray-scale and color Doppler imaging [CDI] parameters) and histopathologic slides were reviewed by two observers; the level of agreement was calculated.

The placenta has a fundamental role for fetal growth and health throughout pregnancy. Normal placental function is essential for a healthy pregnancy outcome. A complete ultrasound survey at any stage of the pregnancy should include full assessment of the fetus and placenta.

Objective: To investigate the value of fetal biometry at 19-24 weeks' gestation in the prediction of delivery of small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonates, in the absence of pre-eclampsia (PE), and examine the potential value of such assessment in deciding whether the third-trimester scan should be at 32 and/or 36 weeks' gestation.
Methods: This was a screening study in 88,187 singleton pregnancies, including 5003 (5.7%) that delivered SGA neonates with birth weight < 5(th) percentile (SGA < 5(th)).
