Health literacy of older adults with musculoskeletal problems: A systematic review.

Introduction: People with poor Health Literacy (HL) find it difficult to understand medical information in their daily lives, participate in health-related decision making and comply with medical instructions. The physical effects of ageing on the musculoskeletal system have a direct impact on skills related to the management of health problems. Many older adults have limited HL, which impacts their ability to fully engage in their care and their health status.
