The vast majority of urban heat island (UHI) studies are now derived from surface temperatures, substituting for the original air temperature-based definition. The disparities in hourly surface-canopy UHI effects (SUHI, CUHI) and the contrasting mechanisms are currently poorly understood. Here, we use high-resolution hourly LST and air temperature data from 2064 urban clusters in China to estimate SUHI and CUHI intensities and their driving mechanisms during the summer and winter of 2022.

In our study, nuclear translocation of LIMK1 in clinical hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) samples was demonstrated for the first time, especially in samples from those with intravascular tumour thrombus. LIMK1 was overexpressed in HCC tissues, and nuclear LIMK1 expression was associated with poor prognosis in HCC patients.

Urban particulate air pollution is a known cause of adverse human health effects worldwide. Colon cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women worldwide and one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. Based on where the cancer stared, we focused on the left-sided colon cancer and right-sided colon cancer in this study to reveal their pathological characteristics and their relationship to the KRAS gene mutation. From examining a total of 198 colorectal cancer specimens collected during 2013 and 2016 in Nan fang Hospital, we noticed that whether the cancer developed in left side or right side of the colon are highly relevant to the patients gender, age, tumor size, differentiation and distant metastasis.

This study examines the influences of nitrogen fertilisation, temperature and soil water content on methane exchange characteristic and methane exchange functional gene-pmoA gene abundance based on experimental observations of methane exchange fluxes using the static chamber-gas chromatographic method and measurements of methanotroph gene copy numbers in three growing periods by real-time PCR in rain-fed potato fields. The results indicate that the rain-fed potato fields were a CH4 sink with an average annual methane absorption (negative emission) of 940.
