Underwater adhesives hold significant relevance in daily life and applications. Despite great efforts, the development of high-performance underwater adhesives through a simple and effective method remains a difficult challenge. Herein, a high adhesion and environmentally stable polyurethane underwater adhesive (DAP-PU) was developed based on rosin with a hydrogenated phenanthrene ring skeleton to design hydrophobic domains, and combined with multi-strength hydrogen bonding interactions to construct "polar hydrophobic domains".

However, the effect of gut microbiota modulation by dietary components on high fat diet (HFD)-induced severe AP remains unclear. Here, we found that the inulin, a soluble dietary fiber, mitigated pancreatic injury and systematic inflammation in mice fed HFD, which was dependent on gut microbiota as this protective effect was attenuated in germ-free mice.

This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of the ALBI grade at different time points for the OS of patients with HCC who underwent surgical resection.
Methods: The clinical data of patients with HCC who underwent radical resection in our hospital were collected and analyzed.
Background: The brain and kidneys share similar low-resistance microvascular structures, receiving blood at consistently high flow rates and thus, are vulnerable to blood pressure fluctuations. This study investigates the causative factors of cerebral microbleeds (CMBs), aiming to quantify the contribution of each risk factor by constructing a multivariate model via stepwise regression.
Methods: A total of 164 hospitalized patients were enrolled from January 2022 to March 2023 in this study, employing magnetic susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) to assess the presence of CMBs.
DNA molecules as storage media are characterized by high encoding density and low energy consumption, making DNA storage a highly promising storage method. However, DNA storage has shortcomings, especially when storing multimedia data, wherein image reconstruction fails when address errors occur, resulting in complete data loss. Therefore, we propose a parity encoding and local mean iteration (PELMI) scheme to achieve robust DNA storage of images.

Shoutai Wan (STW), a traditional Chinese medicine formula, is renowned for its kidney tonifying and fetus tranquilizing effects. It is used to treat miscarriages associated with kidney deficiency, hyperemesis gravidarum, and fetal restlessness.

IPEX is a fatal autoimmune disease, with allogeneic stem cell transplant being the only available therapy. In this study, we report that a single dose of adeno-associated virus (AAV)-IL-27 to young mice with naturally occurring Foxp3 mutation (Scurfy mice) substantially ameliorates clinical symptoms, including growth retardation and early fatality.

While encrypting information with color images, most encryption schemes treat color images as three different grayscale planes and encrypt each plane individually. These algorithms produce more duplicated operations and are less efficient because they do not properly account for the link between the various planes of color images. In addressing the issue, we propose a scheme that thoroughly takes into account the relationship between pixels across different planes in color images.

Herein, an injectable hydrogel (denoted as ES gel) with rapid, robust adhesive sealing and inherent antibacterial activity based on ε-polylysine and a poly(ethylene glycol) derivative is developed. The engineered hydrogel exhibits rapid gelation behavior, high mechanical strength, strong adhesion to various tissues, and can sustain an ultrahigh burst pressure of 450 mmHg.

The function of pDCs in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases has been reported. However, the effect of Siglec-H expression in pDCs in liver inflammation and diseases remains unclear.

Nonetheless, their usefulness has been marred by single and multiphoton losses due to unavoidable environment-induced dissipation. Though several dissipation engineering methods have been developed to counteract the leading single-photon-loss error, averting multiple-photon losses remains elusive.

Methods: The main components and target genes of ZGW were screened the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology (TCMSP). In addition, the target gene sets of PMOP were derived from the GeneCards and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man databases.
Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) encompasses a spectrum of pancreatic inflammatory conditions, ranging from mild inflammation to severe pancreatic necrosis and multisystem organ failure. Given the challenges associated with obtaining human pancreatic samples, research on AP predominantly relies on animal models. In this study, we aimed to elucidate the fundamental molecular mechanisms underlying AP using various AP models.

Recent Findings: OP, a prevalent bone disorder, is marked by reduced bone mineral density and impaired bone architecture, elevating the risk of fractures in patients. The primary approach to OP management is pharmacotherapy, with quercetin, a phytochemical compound, emerging as a focus of recent interest.
Background: Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) represents a severe threat to human health. Persistent hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia can lead to damaged liver function, while effective interventions for these complications are currently lacking. Deer antler stem cells (AnSCs), a novel type of adult stem cells, significantly reduced liver injury, which was speculated to be achieved through the paracrine pathway.

Herein, we engineer an injectable and photo-cross-linkable hydrogel based on naturally derived gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) and -hydroxysuccinimide-modified poly(γ-glutamic acid) (γPGA-NHS). The chemically dual-cross-linked hydrogel rapidly forms after UV light irradiation and covalently bonds to the underlying tissue to provide robust adhesion.

However, due to ignorance of the structure-property correlation, the effect of phosphoramides' structure on the fire retardancy and mechanical properties of PLA is still unclear. Herein, a series of biobased phosphoramides (phosphoramide (V1), linear polyphosphoramide (V2) and hyperbranched polyphosphamide (V3)) were designed and incorporated into PLA, and the structural effect of phosphoramides on the fire-retardant and mechanical properties of PLA was deeply researched.

Numerous studies focus on the consumption of GSH, but the regeneration of GSH will enhance the reduction level of tumor cells to resist oxidative stress. Therefore, inhibiting the regeneration of GSH; while, consuming GSH is of great significance for breaking the redox balance of tumor cells.
