Amplitude Spectral Area (AMSA) of VF is a quantitative waveform measure that describes the amplitude-weighted mean frequency of VF, it correlates with intramyocardial adenosine triphosphate (ATP) concentration, it is a predictor of shock efficacy and an emerging indicator to guide defibrillation and resuscitation efforts. How AMSA might be influenced by amiodarone administration is unknown.

Effect of Cannabidiolic Acid, --Caffeoyltyramine and Cannabisin B from Hemp Seeds on microRNA Expression in Human Neural Cells.

Given the increasing interest in bioactive dietary components that can modulate gene expression enhancing human health, three metabolites isolated from hemp seeds-cannabidiolic acid, --caffeoyltyramine, and cannabisin B-were examined for their ability to change the expression levels of microRNAs in human neural cells. To this end, cultured SH-SY5Y cells were treated with the three compounds and their microRNA content was characterized by next-generation small RNA sequencing. As a result, 31 microRNAs underwent major expression changes, being at least doubled or halved by the treatments.

Despite the presence of the pandemic and the risk of contracting illness, therapists can continue to utilize exposure with response prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard psychotherapy treatment for OCD. Therapists can ethically implement ERP by focusing on core treatment tenets while incorporating guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to mitigate risk for COVID-19 exposure.

Different RNA species, such as lncRNAs, miRNAs, circRNA, mRNAs, engage in regulatory networks based on their reciprocal interactions, often in a competitive manner, in a way denominated "competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks" ("ceRNET"): miRNAs and other ncRNAs modulate each other, since miRNAs can regulate the expression of lncRNAs, which in turn regulate miRNAs, titrating their availability and thus competing with the binding to other RNA targets. The unbalancing of any network component can derail the entire regulatory circuit acting as a driving force for human diseases, thus assigning "new" functions to "old" molecules.

RNA interference (RNAi) is one powerful approach to inhibit DUX4, and we previously described a RNAi gene therapy to achieve DUX4 silencing in FSHD cells and mice using engineered microRNAs.

Background: The relationship between COVID-19 and out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) has been shown during different phases of the first pandemic wave, but little is known about how to predict where cardiac arrests will increase in case of a third peak.

Aim: To seek for a correlation between the OHCAs and COVID-19 daily incidence both during the two pandemic waves at a provincial level.

Methods: We considered all the OHCAs occurred in the provinces of Pavia, Lodi, Cremona, Mantua and Varese, in Lombardy Region (Italy), from 21/02/2020 to 31/12/2020.

Role of FRG1 in predicting the overall survivability in cancers using multivariate based optimal model.

FRG1 has a role in tumorigenesis and angiogenesis. Our preliminary analysis showed that FRG1 mRNA expression is associated with overall survival (OS) in certain cancers, but the effect varies. In cervix and gastric cancers, we found a clear difference in the OS between the low and high FRG1 mRNA expression groups, but the difference was not prominent in breast, lung, and liver cancers.

A rapid assessment framework for food system shocks: Lessons learned from COVID-19 in the Indo-Pacific region.

The frequency and severity of shocks to food systems is accelerating globally, exemplified by the current COVID-19 outbreak. In low- and middle-income countries, the impacts have exacerbated existing food system vulnerabilities and poverty. Governments and donors must respond quickly, but few tools are available that identify interventions to build food system resilience, or emerging opportunities for transformation.

Peripheral perfusion index and diagnostic accuracy of the post-ROSC electrocardiogram in patients with medical out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Aim: A 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) after the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) is recommended to diagnose a ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In the early post-ROSC phase, the ECG can show signs of ischemia not necessarily of coronary origin and post-ROSC hypoperfusion could affect ECG reliability. We sought for an association between peripheral perfusion index (PI) values after ROSC and the percentage of false-positive ECG for STEMI.
