A class of tetrahydropyrazino[2,1-a:5,4-a']diisoquinoline derivatives were synthesized under environmentally friendly conditions using water as the solvent. The 3-D structures of some synthesized compounds were determined by X-ray diffraction. Since naturally occurring isoquinoline alkaloids have significant antiviral activities against a wide range of viruses, including coronaviruses, the synthesized compounds were assayed for their inhibitory activities against SARS-CoV-2.

Catalyst-free reactions of anilines with β-chloroenones: synthesis of α-chloroenaminones and 1,4-benzodiazepines.

The Michael addition of anilines to β-chloroenones gives enaminones by the elimination of hydrochloric acid (HCl). These enaminones are transformed into α-chloroenaminones sp C-H functionalization. Anilines that are attached to an electron-donating group react more readily with β-chloroenone to give the corresponding products in excellent yields.

A systematic review followed by a meta-analysis was conducted as per standard guidelines (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) 2022) to find this association between GI cancers and PRCB after a literature search for full-text papers in the English language (between 2010 and 2023) in databases (Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Web of Science) with suitable keywords using the Boolean search strategy.

Plexiform neurofibromas occurring in approximately 20-50% of all neurofibromatosis type-1 (NF1) cases are histologically benign tumors, but they can be fatal due to compression of vital structures or transformation to malignant sarcomas or malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors. In this unusual case, a 12-year-old girl presented with a rapidly growing, extremely extensive plexiform neurofibroma with segmental distribution over the entire right arm, extending to the right chest wall and mediastinum, superimposed on classic cutaneous lesions of NF1.

Tea waste powder (TWP) is one of the potential biomass waste to recover valuable chemicals and materials. The prime objective of this work is to investigate the role of acid pretreatment on TWP. Diluted acids (HCl, HPO, CHCOOH, and HSO) were used to soak the TWP to understand the role of acids on bond cleavage and chemicals formation.

Background: Neurofibromatosis type 1 and pseudoachondroplasia are both rare autosomal dominant disorders, caused by pathogenic mutations in NF1 and COMP genes, respectively. Both neurofibromin 1 and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) play a role in the development of the skeleton. Carrying both germline mutations has not been previously reported; however, it can affect the developing phenotype.

Congenital granular cell tumor (CGCT) in newborns is a rare tumor occurring in the oral cavity, leading to difficulty in breast-feeding, mouth closure, and even respiration. This is rarely diagnosed perinatally and may be confused with a wide range of congenital, benign, or malignant growths during the clinical examination. The CGCT may be studied by ultrasonography to get a positive affirmation on the clinical diagnosis and, for basic pre-surgical guidance before excision.

Background: Little is known about wake-time masseter activity of patients with masticatory muscle pain in real-life settings.

Objectives: The aims of this study were (1) to assess wake-time masseter activity of women with masticatory muscle pain (MMP) and compare it with that of pain-free women; and (2) to investigate the association between objectively measured masseter contractions and self-reported oral behaviours.
