In the present study, anaerobic co-digestion process was carried out with 23 mixed substrates proportion (MSP) of fruit waste (FRW), municipal wastewater treatment plant aerated biosolid (MPABS) and dairy effluent treatment plant returned biosolid (DPRBS). During co-digestion process, the effect of MSP on carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio and hydrogen production was investigated. The results revealed that MSP17 (70 FRW:20 MPABS:10 DPRBS) has yielded maximal hydrogen production of 295 mL with C/N ratio of 30, followed by MSP9 (70 FRW:30 DPRBS) exhibiting 253 mL of hydrogen production with C/N ratio of 29 and MSP2 (90 FRW:10 MPABS) attained 223 mL of hydrogen production with C/N ratio of 27.

In the present study, the consortium of hydrolytic enzymes namely protease, α-amylase, lipase, cellulase and α-glucosidase were extracted from sludge flocs of municipal returned waste activated sludge (MRWAS) and different proportion of mixed sludge namely (MRWAS) and pulp and paper sludge using ultrasonication and stirring with TX100 (Triton X100) and AOT (Dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate). Ultrasonication with specific energy of 27,027kJ/kg TS with duration 10min was optimized to get maximum activity of enzymes. Mixed sludge with ratio (55:75) had yielded more enzymes activity than the municipal returned waste activated sludge.

The work explores the experimental and theoretical aspects of emulsification capability of ultrasound to deliver stable emulsions of sunflower oil in water and meat sausages. In order to determine optimal parameters for direct ultrasonic emulsification of food emulsions, a model was developed based on the stability of emulsion droplets in acoustic cavitation field. The study is further extended to investigate the ultrasound induced changes to the inherent properties of raw materials under the experimental conditions of sono-emulsification.
