Background: Although nasal polyps are one of the most frequent diseases, their etiopathogenesis remains unclear.Since eosinophils are the main inflammatory cells in the substantial proportion of nasal polyp tissues, they are considered potentially responsible for the etiopathogenesis and prognosis of the disease. Hamartomas are the most common benign tumors of the lung. Endobnronchial hamartomas are even rarer and infrequently causes hemoptysis. We report a case of endobronchial hamartoma that was originating from a segment bronchus and invisible in chest X-ray.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility to predict the histopathological features of breast and metastatic lymph nodes and survey and prognosis of patients and likelihood of being a predictive factor for treatment by using Ki67 immunohistochemical stain.

Effect of tube potential and image receptor on the detection of natural proximal caries in primary teeth.

The aim of this study was to assess the detection of proximal caries in primary teeth at three different tube potentials using Ektaspeed films, storage phosphor plates (SPPs), and a charge-coupled device (CCD). Fifty-three extracted human primary molars with natural proximal caries were radiographed with three different imaging modalities--Digora Optime SPP system, RVGui CCD system, and Ektaspeed films--at 50-, 65-, and 70-kV tube potentials. Three observers scored the resultant images for the presence or absence of caries.

Fournier's gangrene: a retrospective clinical study on forty-one patients.

Background: Fournier's gangrene, first described by Dr Jean Alfred Fournier in 1883, still has a high mortality rate. The prognosis and outcome of such patients were analysed.

Sialometaplasia, squamous metaplasia of salivary gland lobules, is a benign condition occasionally presenting with lesions clinically simulating malignancy. "Necrotising sialometaplasia", recognised by lobular infarction, necrosis, and simultaneous squamous metaplasia of ducts and acini is a well known condition. There are only a few reports of the "proliferative type of sialometaplasia", which is recognised by a more mature morphology of larger and more irregular metaplastic nests, lacking necrosis.
