Background: Diarrhea in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) can be associated with significant morbidity.

Material And Methods: We evaluated 198 KTRs for a history of diarrhea post-kidney transplant at a tertiary care center in western India over 1 year. A protocol-based evaluation of diarrhea was done with respect to clinical features, diagnostic evaluation, associated acute allograft dysfunction, and its impact on long-term allograft function.

Introduction: Kidney transplant recipients (KTR) are at increased risk of morbidity and mortality due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study aimed to explore the clinical characteristics and outcomes of COVID-19 in KTR.

Methods: We reviewed the clinical profile, outcomes, and immunological responses of recipients admitted with COVID-19.

Kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) are at a higher risk for developing severe COVID-19 which can be associated with cardiovascular complications. We studied five KTRs recipients infected with COVID-19 who developed severe cardiovascular complications. Two patients presented with ST segment myocardial infarction and two with clinically suspected myocarditis.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in patients with severe impairment of kidney function is associated with high mortality. We evaluated the effect of high dependency renal unit (HDRU), with nephrologists as primary care physicians, as a quality improvement initiative for the management of these patients. This was a quasi-experimental observational study conducted at a tertiary care hospital in western India.

Evidence on the evolution of graft function in kidney transplant recipients recovering from coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is lacking. This multicenter observational study evaluated the short-term clinical outcomes in recipients with acute kidney injury (AKI) secondary to COVID-19. Out of 452 recipients following up at five centers, 50 had AKI secondary to COVID-19.

The prevalence of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Indian patients has been evaluated in this study. In addition, association of PH with CKD etiology, its prevalence in various CKD stages, correlation between the severity of PH with CKD duration, various related biochemical parameters, and their relation to PH in CKD patients were analyzed. This cross-sectional and prospective study included 200 CKD patients.

The epidemiological pattern of acute kidney injury (AKI) in tropical countries during monsoon reflects infectious disease as the most important cause. AKI is a confounding factor and may be overlooked by primary health-care providers and underreported in health statistics. The present study prospectively helps estimate the burden of disease and analyze etiology, clinical profile, and outcome in a tertiary care hospital of a metropolitan city in a tropical country.

The consequences of live kidney donation on the donor health with main emphasis on postdonation blood pressure (BP), proteinuria, kidney size, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were evaluated. Twenty-five donors with minimum of six months postdonation duration were included in the study. Donor age at nephrectomy, duration postnephrectomy, systolic and diastolic BP measurement pre-and post-donation, postdonation, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and 24-h proteinuria, blood sugar, two-dimensional echocardiogram were recorded.
