Objective: This study aimed to compare the level of dental anatomy knowledge and visual acuity of dental students throughout their undergraduate course.
Materials And Methods: This descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was conducted over one year. Thirty-seven students, divided into three groups based on the time spent studying dental anatomy and carving, had their theoretical knowledge and visual acuity assessed using two questionnaires.
African Swine Fever (ASF) is a viral disease affecting both wild and domestic swine, with the potential for major lethality rates. In addition to direct losses for producers, its notification in a free country or zone leads to international trade restrictions. The disease has spread globally at concerning levels, with outbreaks reported in recent years across five continents.

Aim: To investigate the occurrence of auditory impairments in individuals with dysphonia and to describe the results of behavioral and electrophysiological audiological assessments in this population.
Study Design: A scoping review.
Method: A scoping review following the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual for Evidence Synthesis for Scoping Reviews and PRISMA-ScR.
Brazil's COVID-19 response has faced challenges due to the continuous emergence of variants of concern (VOCs), emphasizing the need for ongoing genomic surveillance and retrospective analyses of past epidemic waves to reassess and fine tune containment protocols. Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil's southernmost state, has international borders and trades with Argentina and Uruguay, along with significant domestic connections within Brazil. The identification of source and sink transmission chains at national and international scales can identify main hubs and pathways to target future interventions.

The emergence of S. aureus strains that are highly resistant to antimicrobial agents highlights the urgent need for alternative therapeutic options.

The efficacy of -based interventions for dengue and chikungunya control has been validated through numerous field studies in recent years. This study aimed to investigate the diversity and prevalence of infections in sylvatic mosquitoes from two locations in Recife, Brazil.

Among the various techniques for preparing particle-based composites, ultrasonic wave stimulation is one of the principal laboratory-scale methods for enhancing the dispersion of the discontinuous phase. Nevertheless, there is a scarcity of empirical evidence to substantiate the impact of stimulating materials with natural sound frequencies within the acoustic spectrum, ranging from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, during their formation process.

The clinical manifestations are nonspecific and appear late, pain is the most common symptom present. Elevated serum IgG4 levels are observed in up to 60 % of the patients and the main goal of treating this condition is to preserve kidney function.

Despite considerable understanding of its intricate anatomy and response to varying pressure and loading conditions, the impact of biological sex remains a subject of investigation. While TR typically afflicts more women, significant differences in TR etiology and post-treatment outcomes have not been conclusively established.

Background: The Golden Syrian hamster (Mesocricetus auratus), Ferrets (Mustela putorius furo), and macaques have been described as useful laboratory animals naturally susceptible to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.
Objectives: To study the mechanism of lung injury, we describe the histopathological features of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Golden Syrian hamsters inoculated intranasally with the A.2 Brazilian strain.
Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a neglected tropical disease that is potentially fatal when untreated. Current diagnostic methods have limitations that contribute to ongoing transmission and poor prognosis. Thus, new tests are needed to provide quick, accurate diagnoses and evaluate clinical progression and treatment efficacy.

This study evaluated the effect of fluoride varnishes containing micrometric or nanosized sodium trimetaphosphate (TMP) on dentin erosive wear in vitro. Bovine root dentin blocks were selected by surface hardness and randomly divided into five experimental groups/varnishes (n = 20/group): placebo, 5% sodium fluoride (NaF); 5% NaF+5% micrometric TMP; 5% NaF+2.5% nanosized TMP; and 5% NaF+5% nanosized TMP.

This is essentially due to the superposed effect of gas diffusion and convection resulting in an equilibration of N concentrations between neighboring lung units throughout exhalation. We investigated this in smokers with computed tomography (CT)-proven functional small airway disease.

By incorporating CNT as reinforcement in SMP, they have aimed to enhance the mechanical properties and improve shape fixity. However, the remarkable intrinsic properties of CNT have also opened up new paths for actuation mechanisms, including electro- and photo-thermal responses.
