Automated touchscreen systems have become increasingly prevalent in rodent model screening. This technology has significantly enhanced cognitive and behavioral assessments in mice and has bridged the translational gap between basic research using rodent models and human clinical research. Our study introduces a custom-built touchscreen operant conditioning chamber powered by a Raspberry Pi and a commercially available computer tablet, which effectively addresses the significant cost barriers traditionally associated with this technology.

Here, we applied auto-ML approaches on real-case metagenomic datasets from saliva and subgingival peri-implant biofilm microbiomes to explore a wide range of ML algorithms to benchmark best-performing algorithms for predicting peri-implantitis (PI). A total of 100 metagenomes from the NCBI SRA database (PRJNA1163384) were used in this study to construct biofilm and saliva metagenomes datasets.

The diversity, specific binding ability and therapeutic potential of antibodies are determined by hypervariable loops called complementarity-determining regions (CDRs), with the other regions being the framework regions.
Objective: To investigate the key amino acid patterns in various antibody regions in the human therapeutic antigen-antibody (Ag-Ab) complexes collected from the Thera-SAbDab database.
Antibodies have specific binding capabilities and therapeutic potential for treating various diseases, including viral infections. The amino acid composition of the hypervariable complementarity determining regions (CDR) loops and the framework regions (FR) are the determining factors for the affinity and therapeutic efficacy of the antibodies. In this study selected and curated, 77 viral antigen-human antibody complexes from Protein data bank from the Thera-SAbdab database were analyzed.

Methods: Multicentric retrospective cohort.
Background & Aims: Sarcopenic obesity (SO) is associated with cardiometabolic disorders and steatotic liver disease and carries major health risks. We assessed the hepatic and metabolic clinical phenotype associated with SO in patients with obesity undergoing bariatric surgery (BS). We also evaluated whether weight-loss and metabolic improvement post-surgery differ between patients with and without SO.

Background: The Demand Control Support model is useful for studying work-related stress. The combination of high demand and a low level of control generates "job strain" ("job iso-strain" if poor support is added), with implications for the worker's health and well-being. The aims of this study were to adapt, examine the factor structure of, and determine the reliability of, the Demand Control Support Questionnaire (DCSQ) short version for European Portuguese (DCSQ-PT).

Among lipids, polar lipids have been highlighted as bioactive phytochemicals with health-promoting properties. This research aimed to provide an in-depth lipidome profiling of using liquid and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.

Methods: Prospective single-centre study in a cohort of patients hospitalized in the ICU of Hepatology La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital between January 2019 and September 2021.
As the demand for immunotherapy to treat and manage cancers, infectious diseases and other disorders grows, a comprehensive understanding of amino acids and their intricate role in antibody engineering has become a prime requirement. Naturally produced antibodies may not have the most suitable amino acids at the complementarity determining regions (CDR) and framework regions, for therapeutic purposes. Therefore, to enhance the binding affinity and therapeutic properties of an antibody, the specific impact of certain amino acids on the antibody's architecture must be thoroughly studied.

Avocado has become a food trend due to its nutritional and functional values, which in turn is increasing its consumption and production worldwide. Avocado edible portion has a high content of lipids, with the pulp and its oil being rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and essential omega - 3 and omega - 6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA).

Methicillin resistant (MRSA) is a pathogen that causes serious infections in different settings (community, hospital & veterinary) whose treatment remains highly challenging due to its powerful characteristics (antibiotic resistance strategies, virulence factors). In this study, we used reverse vaccinology (RV) approach and designed an immunogenic multi epitope vaccine (CV3Ag-antiMRSA) targeting three potential antigen candidates viz.

The prevalence of illnesses associated with GS and hypobilirubinemia has never been studied prospectively. As TB varies with UGT1A1*28 genotyping, sex, and age, we propose stratified definitions of TB reference intervals and report the prevalence of illnesses and adjusted 15 years survival.

Although the management of patients with cirrhosis is constantly evolving, improving the prognosis of patients with NAFLD-related cirrhosis is a challenge because it is situated at the crossroads between the liver, the metabolic, and the cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, the therapeutic interventions should not only target the liver but also the associated cardiometabolic conditions and should be adapted accordingly.

The objective of this paper is to propose guidance for the management of relevant comorbidities in both candidates and actual participants in NASH therapeutic trials. We relied on specific guidelines from scientific societies, when available, but adapted them to the particulars of NASH trials with the aim of addressing multiple interacting requirements such as maintaining patient safety, reaching holistic therapeutic objectives, minimising confounding effects on efficacy and safety of investigational agents and allowing for trial completion.
