For different manufacturing processes, porosity occurs in parts made using selective laser sintering (SLS) technology, representing one of the weakest points of materials produced with these processes. Even though there are different studies involving many polymeric materials employed via SLS, and different manuscripts in the literature that discuss the porosity occurrence in pure or blended polymers, to date, no researcher has reported a systematic and exhaustive comparison of the porosity percentage. A direct comparison of the available data may prove pivotal in advancing our understanding within the field of additively manufactured polymers.

Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome (PRES) is a neurological complication associated with several medical conditions and it has been described in clinical findings of seizures, headache, vomiting, altered mental status, and visual changes and focal neurologic deficit, in conjunction with radiological findings of primarily posterior cerebral white matter edema of both cerebral hemispheres. PRES can develop in a wide array situations including pregnancy and postpartum in patients with or without symptoms and signs of eclampsia. A prompt diagnosis of PRES by magnetic resonance imaging and an immediate antihypertensive and anticonvulsant therapy can help to prevent serious complications.

In recent years, the development of cost-effective processing techniques, novel design concepts and new materials paved the way to a widespread diffusion of micro- and nano-electro-mechanical systems (NEMS/MEMS). Obviously, the reliability as well as the performance of NEMS/MEMS depend on the corresponding materials properties, which in turn should be determined using ad-hoc small samples fabricated at the relevant size-scale. Coordinated proliferation and differentiation of growth plate chondrocytes is required for normal growth and development of the endochondral skeleton, but little is known about the intracellular signal transduction pathways regulating these processes. We have investigated the roles of the GTPase RhoA and its effector kinases ROCK1/2 in hypertrophic chondrocyte differentiation. RhoA, ROCK1, and ROCK2 are expressed throughout chondrogenic differentiation.
