Background And Aims: Family members of patients who are undergoing resuscitation may experience complex psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, or posttraumatic stress symptoms. Although several studies have identified positive experiences of family members who were given the option to be present during their loved one's resuscitation, the actual impact of family presence during resuscitation on family members remains elusive and needs to be explored comprehensively. This review aims to identify the impact of being present during the resuscitation event of adult patients in in-hospital settings on family members.

Developing an Implementation Model for ADHD Intervention in Community Clinics: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology.

Implementation of behavior therapy for ADHD faces challenges in community settings. We describe development of a community-based implementation model for adolescent ADHD behavior therapy (Supporting Teens' Autonomy Daily; STAND) blended with Motivational Interviewing (MI). A stakeholder-engaged development approach is used based on the Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, Sustainment (EPIS) framework.

Three-Year Effects of Motivational Interviewing-Enhanced Behavior Therapy for Adolescents With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: A Randomized Community-Based Trial.

Objective: This study reports 3-year effects of a parent-teen cognitive/behavioral treatment for adolescent attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), blended with Motivational Interviewing (Supporting Teens' Autonomy Daily [STAND]), vs Usual Care (UC) in 4 community clinics.

Method: This was a randomized clinical trial with double randomization of adolescents and therapists to STAND vs UC. Participants were 278 culturally diverse adolescents diagnosed with DSM-5 ADHD and 82 community therapists.

Lessons from the Department of Veterans Affairs: A continuum of age-friendly care for older adults.

With almost 90% of Americans expressing a desire to age in place in their home, many health systems and communities are challenged to provide the right resources, at the right time, to support What Matters to older adults. In the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), approximately 50% of Veterans enrolled in VA health care are aged 65 and older, driving an imperative to provide timely, Age-Friendly care through a broad continuum of services. VA has taken a multifaceted approach to shift Long-Term Services and Supports to promote aging in place through innovation pilots, expansion of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and adoption of Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) practices [or "framework"].

Understanding Social Judgments of and Proclivities to Commit Upskirting.

Against a backdrop of legislative change that sees the taking of private sexual images underneath the clothing of a non-consenting other being made a criminal offence - upskirting - there is a need to understand the public's judgments of and motivations to perpetrate said behavior. In this study ( = 490), we investigated whether judgments of upskirting differed as a function of the sex of the person who was upskirted (male, female) and their perceived attractiveness (attractive, unattractive), as well as how variation in voyeuristic interest, belief in a just world, and dark personality traits predicted judgments of and proclivity to engage in upskirting. We consistently observed more lenient judgments of upskirting behavior when the person who was upskirted was attractive and male, with such judgements predicted by older age across all conditions.

Inadvertent perioperative hypothermia prevention strategies for urology surgical patients who received a blood transfusion: A retrospective analysis.

Objectives: This study aimed to establish whether hypothermia was present in patients who required a blood transfusion and underwent a urology procedure, as well as identify staff knowledge and understanding.

Patients And Methods: A staff survey was conducted with respondents from a range of clinical settings, with some staff working across more than one area. A retrospective review of 46 medical records was conducted between January 2021 and July 2022.

Objective: To examine the safety and efficacy of prostatic urethral lift (PUL) in acute urinary retention (AUR) patients within a controlled (PULSAR) and real-world setting (Real-World Retrospective study).

Materials And Methods: PULSAR was a 12-month prospective study of PUL in AUR patients ( = 51) performed at six centres in the United Kingdom; enrolled BPH patients aged ≥50 years, with prostate volume of ≤100 cc. AUR was defined as being catheter dependent with at least one prior failed trial without catheter (TWOC) while on an alpha-blocker.

Congenital clubfoot is addressed in infancy and rarely persists into adulthood. Ankle arthroplasty is an increasingly popular surgical intervention for patients with ankle arthritis since it allows a natural ankle range of motion and completely replaces a degenerative hindfoot. Here, we describe the first successful total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) for a patient with previously treated congenital clubfoot that reverted later in life.

Unlocking Drug Resistance in Multiple Myeloma: Adipocytes as Modulators of Treatment Response.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable hematological malignancy characterized by the clonal proliferation of malignant plasma cells. Despite the development of a diverse array of targeted drug therapies over the last decade, patients often relapse and develop refractory disease due to multidrug resistance. Obesity is a growing public health threat and a risk factor for multiple myeloma, although the mechanisms by which obesity contributes to MM growth and progression have not been fully elucidated.

With thousands of tons of Tyre Wear Particles (TWP) entering the aquatic environment every year, TWP are considered a major contributor to microplastic pollution. TWP leach organic compounds and metals in water, potentially affecting the marine food web. However, little is known about the toxicity of TWP leachates on marine copepods, a major food web constituent, and a key group to determine the environmental risk of pollution in marine ecosystems.

Introduction: Modern image-guided biopsy pathways at diagnostic centres have greatly refined the investigations of men referred with suspected prostate cancer. However, the referral criteria from primary care are still based on historical prostate-specific antigen (PSA) cut-offs and age-referenced thresholds. Here, we tested whether better contemporary pathways and biopsy methods had improved the predictive utility value of PSA referral thresholds.
