Background And Aims: Family members of patients who are undergoing resuscitation may experience complex psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, or posttraumatic stress symptoms. Although several studies have identified positive experiences of family members who were given the option to be present during their loved one's resuscitation, the actual impact of family presence during resuscitation on family members remains elusive and needs to be explored comprehensively. This review aims to identify the impact of being present during the resuscitation event of adult patients in in-hospital settings on family members.

With almost 90% of Americans expressing a desire to age in place in their home, many health systems and communities are challenged to provide the right resources, at the right time, to support What Matters to older adults. In the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), approximately 50% of Veterans enrolled in VA health care are aged 65 and older, driving an imperative to provide timely, Age-Friendly care through a broad continuum of services. VA has taken a multifaceted approach to shift Long-Term Services and Supports to promote aging in place through innovation pilots, expansion of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and adoption of Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) practices [or "framework"].

Against a backdrop of legislative change that sees the taking of private sexual images underneath the clothing of a non-consenting other being made a criminal offence - upskirting - there is a need to understand the public's judgments of and motivations to perpetrate said behavior. In this study ( = 490), we investigated whether judgments of upskirting differed as a function of the sex of the person who was upskirted (male, female) and their perceived attractiveness (attractive, unattractive), as well as how variation in voyeuristic interest, belief in a just world, and dark personality traits predicted judgments of and proclivity to engage in upskirting. We consistently observed more lenient judgments of upskirting behavior when the person who was upskirted was attractive and male, with such judgements predicted by older age across all conditions.

Mucus is a dynamic biological hydrogel, composed primarily of the glycoprotein mucin, exhibits unique biophysical properties and forms a barrier protecting cells against a broad-spectrum of viruses. Here, this work develops a polyglycerol sulfate-based dendronized mucin-inspired copolymer (MICP-1) with ≈10% repeating units of activated disulfide as cross-linking sites. Cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) analysis of MICP-1 reveals an elongated single-chain fiber morphology.

The chemical and isotopic composition of stony coral skeletons form an important archive of past climate. However, these reconstructions are largely based on empirical relationships often complicated by "vital effects" arising from uncertain physiological processes of the coral holobiont. The skeletons of deep-sea corals, such as Desmophyllum dianthus, are characterised by micron-scale or larger geochemical heterogeneity associated with: (1) centres of calcification (COCs) where nucleation of new skeleton begins, and (2) fibres that thicken the skeleton.

Background: Carfilzomib (CFZ) is a second-generation proteasome inhibitor used to treat multiple myeloma. Potent inhibition of the proteasome results in chronic proteotoxic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, leading to apoptosis. While CFZ has improved survival rates in multiple myeloma, it is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular adverse effects.

Coral reefs provide ecosystem benefits to millions of people but are threatened by rapid environmental change and ever-increasing human pressures. Restoration is becoming a priority strategy for coral reef conservation, yet implementation remains challenging and it is becoming increasingly apparent that indirect conservation and restoration approaches will not ensure the long-term sustainability of coral reefs. The important role of environmental conditions in restoration practice are currently undervalued, carrying substantial implications for restoration success.

Coastal species are threatened by fishing practices and changing environmental conditions, such as marine heatwaves (MHW). The mechanisms that confer tolerance to such stressors in marine invertebrates are poorly understood. However, differences in tolerance among different species may be attributed to their geographical distribution.

(1) Background: In the last decade, the number of detected renal cancer cases has increased, with the highest incidence in Western countries. Although renal biopsy is reported as a safe procedure, it is not adopted in all centres. As it is not possible to accurately distinguish benign tumours using imaging, this may lead to overtreatment.

Congenital clubfoot is addressed in infancy and rarely persists into adulthood. Ankle arthroplasty is an increasingly popular surgical intervention for patients with ankle arthritis since it allows a natural ankle range of motion and completely replaces a degenerative hindfoot. Here, we describe the first successful total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) for a patient with previously treated congenital clubfoot that reverted later in life.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable hematological malignancy characterized by the clonal proliferation of malignant plasma cells. Despite the development of a diverse array of targeted drug therapies over the last decade, patients often relapse and develop refractory disease due to multidrug resistance. Obesity is a growing public health threat and a risk factor for multiple myeloma, although the mechanisms by which obesity contributes to MM growth and progression have not been fully elucidated.

With thousands of tons of Tyre Wear Particles (TWP) entering the aquatic environment every year, TWP are considered a major contributor to microplastic pollution. TWP leach organic compounds and metals in water, potentially affecting the marine food web. However, little is known about the toxicity of TWP leachates on marine copepods, a major food web constituent, and a key group to determine the environmental risk of pollution in marine ecosystems.

Introduction: Modern image-guided biopsy pathways at diagnostic centres have greatly refined the investigations of men referred with suspected prostate cancer. However, the referral criteria from primary care are still based on historical prostate-specific antigen (PSA) cut-offs and age-referenced thresholds. Here, we tested whether better contemporary pathways and biopsy methods had improved the predictive utility value of PSA referral thresholds.
