Objective: The optimal method for cerebral protection during aortic arch reconstruction in neonates and infants is unknown. We compare the outcomes of deep hypothermic circulatory arrest and selective antegrade cerebral perfusion strategies in neonatal and infant cardiac surgery.
Methods: We retrospectively identified all patients aged less than 1 year who underwent aortic arch reconstruction from 2012 to 2023.

This study uses mobile monitoring to gain a better understanding of particulate matter (PM) sources in two areas of Central and Outer London, UK. We find that, unlike emissions of nitrogen oxides (NO + NO = NO), which are elevated in Central London due to the high number of diesel vehicles and congestion, fine particulate matter (PM) emissions are well-controlled. This finding provides evidence for the effectiveness of vehicle particulate filters, supporting the view that their widespread adoption has mitigated PM emissions, even in the highly dieselized area of Central London.

This study was designed to investigate the mechanisms by which inhibition of glycolysis with 2-deoxy-d-glucose (2DG) reduces the expansion of T cells and the associated autoantibody production in lupus-prone mice. Integrated cellular, transcriptomic, epigenetic and metabolic analyses showed that 2DG reversed the enhanced cell expansion and effector functions, as well as mitochondrial and lysosomal defects in lupus T cells, which include an increased chaperone-mediated autophagy induced by TLR7 activation.

User experience in data visualization is typically assessed through post-viewing self-reports, but these overlook the dynamic cognitive processes during interaction. This study explores the use of mind wandering- a phenomenon where attention spontaneously shifts from a primary task to internal, task-related thoughts or unrelated distractions- as a dynamic measure during visualization exploration.
