This work employs hybrid quantum mechanics molecular mechanics simulations coupled with an umbrella sampling technique to investigate the acetylation of d-glucose with acetic anhydride in two deep eutectic solvents (DESs): choline-chloride ethylene glycol (ChCl/Etg) and choline-chloride urea (ChCl/U). The reaction proceeds spontaneously, with activation free energy barriers of 18.19 ± 0.

Since is an endangered species, an in-vitro micropropagation technique is needed for mass propagation of plantlets. Nodal segments of stem cuttings grown in greenhouse conditions were disinfected with an appropriate protocol and in vitro established on Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) supplemented with 0.

The main finding of the study was that the pretreatment with 6 % HNO3 and 1 % NaOH led to better yields than those obtained with sodium hydroxide, dilute sulfuric acid, steam explosion, and organosolv pretreatments. Also, HNO3 yields were maximized by the factorial method.

In Mexico, in the guava orchards common practices to control fruit production are: water stress, defoliation and pruning.

The aim of our work was to characterize the antifungal activity in Arthrobacter agilis UMCV2 and diverse amines against wood-decaying fungi. Four fungal organisms (designated as UMTM) were isolated from decaying wood samples obtained from a forest in Cuanajo-Michoacán, México.

We used the fluorescein and dabcyl as fluorophore and quencher respectively, and studied with DFT calculations at the GGA/DNP level, and taking into account DFT dispersion corrections by the Grimme and Tkatchenko-Scheffler (TS) schemes, the distance, where the most favorable energetic interaction between the fluorophore and quencher in conjugated form occurs. This distance occurs at a separation distance of 29.
