The effect of amount of plasticizer di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) amount on the amount of residual monomer vinyl chloride (VC) was determined in samples of plasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with different concentration of plasticiser (22.32-33.05%), before and after sterilisation by a titrimetric method.

[Vasaprostan treatment of fibrosing alveolitis in patients with pulmonary hypertension].

Aim: To study clinical efficacy of vasaprostan in patients with fibrosing alveolitis (FA) complicated by pulmonary hypertension (PH), its effect on functional activity of platelets and endothelium, intensity of free radical processes.

Material And Methods: Seven FA patients were examined. They had either idiopathic FA or FA with diffuse diseases of the connective tissues.

Wistar rats with different levels of resistance to emotional stress (ES) were subjected to stress and brain sections stained with Nissl cresyl violet were used for quantitative analysis of the structural organization of neurons in layer V of the sensorimotor cortex. Some animals received delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) 1 h before stress. Control ES-susceptible rats, as compared with resistant rats, had lower levels of normochromic and moderately hypochromic neurons.

[Lesions of retroperitoneal fatty tissue in destructive pancreatitis].

Experience of examination and treatment of 102 patients with lesion of retroperitoneal space undergone surgery for pancreonecrosis is analyzed. Based of data of ultrasonic examination, computed tomography, surgery and autopsy laws of morphologic transformation and ways of spread of pathologic process into retroperitoneal space in pancreonecrosis were revealed. Developed scheme is important for substantiation of surgical policy.

The development of juvenile plants of the hybrid orchid Bratonia after seed cryopreservation.

The development of juvenile plants of hybrid Bratonia orchid in vitro after seed storage in liquid nitrogen and the effect of nutrient medium composition on protocorm multiplication and plant regeneration were investigated. Cryopreservation did not inhibit the germination rate of seeds. Protocorms derived from cryopreserved seeds developed faster than protocorms from control (unfrozen) seeds during the first 45 days.

[Markers of thrombophilia in pulmonary fibrosis complicated by pulmonary hypertension].

Aim: To determine the role of enhanced blood coagulation in pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension (PH) at an early stage of fibrosing alveolitis (FA).

Material And Methods: Clinical, functional, roentgenological, coagulation and immunological examinations were performed in 17 patients with idiopathic FA (IFA), in 6 patients with exogenic allergic alveolitis (EAA), in 15 FA patients with diffuse diseases of the connective tissue (FA-DDCT). The diagnosis was verified with high resolution computed tomography (HRCT).

Efficiency of transgenic rat production is independent of transgene-construct and overnight embryo culture.

The aim of the present work was to study factors affecting the efficiency of transgenic technology in rats. We investigated the possible effects of pronuclear microinjection of buffer or different DNA-constructs on survival and development of rat zygotes in vitro and in vivo as well as the influence of overnight culture of these embryos before transfer into pseudopregnant foster mothers. The survival rate of zygotes and their development to the two-cell and morula stage was not affected by pronuclear microinjection with different DNA-constructs or buffer.

[Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia and dysplasia in squamous epithelium of the honeycomb lung in outcome of idiopathic fibrosing alveolitis].

Relationships between sclerosis and carcinogenesis in the honeycomb lung were studied in the outcome of two variants of idiopathic fibrosing alveolitis (IFA)-common interstitial pneumonia (CIP) and desquamative interstitial pneumonia (DIP) which may be a background for lung carcinoma development. The material was obtained from 43 patients with the diagnosis of IFA. Immunohistochemically were studied: TNF-alpha (DAKO, Denmark, 1:100), pancytokeratines (Immunotech, Germany, concentration 1:100), Ki67 (DAKO, Denmark, 1:40), TGF-beta (Biosource international, USA, 1:100), CD34 (Novocastra, Great Britain, 1:100), EMA (DAKO, Denmark, 1:100).

[Age-specific morphological-functional characteristics of the rabbit's hippocampal neurons during conditioning].

Formation of trace rhythm recruitment (an analogue of conditioned time reflex) was studies in CA3 hippocampal neurons of alert young (less than one year), old (54-65 months), and very old rabbits after a prolonged (10-20 min) electro-cutaneous stimulation of a forelimb with the frequency of 0.5-1 Hz. Comparative analysis of neuronal spike activity in young and old rabbits showed that in the late ontogeny the number of spontaneously active neurons was significantly decreased, the proportion of slowly firing neurons increased, the interspike intervals and intervals between spike groups became longer, the number of spikes in a group reduced.

[Structure of the brain sensomotor cortex in offspring of rats exposed to alcohol].

The purpose of the present study was to examine the development of sensomotor brain cortex structures in progeny of male and female rats chronically intoxicated by alcohol. Using the methods of light and electron microscopy and morphometry, the peculiarities of sensomotor cortex cytoarchitectonics, structure on neurons and of their dendrites were studied in rats aged 21 and 30 days, which belong to the progeny of chronically alcoholized male and female animals. Three categories of morphological changes were recognized: the signs indicative of a delay in the neuronal and dendritic maturation, their destructive changes and the repair phenomena, which possess their individual dynamics in postnatal ontogenesis.

[Structural and functional organization of the cerebral cortex neurons in rats with various resistance to emotional stress following administration of delta-sleep-inducing peptide].

In Wistar rats with different resistance to emotional stress (ES), subjected to stress exposure (SE), the structural organization of neurons in layer V of sensomotor cortex was studied quantitatively in brain sections stained using Nissl's cresyl violet method. One group of animals was injected with delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) 1 hr before SE. In rats of control group predisposed to ES, the amount of normochromatic and moderately hypochromatic neurons was decreased as compared to the rats resistant to ES.

Information on Crimean haemorrhagic fever (CHF) in different climatic zones of the Krasnodar territory is presented. The epidemiological importance of some species of Ixodes ticks as vectors of the causative agent of CHF was shown. Ticks Hyalomma marginatum proved to be the main vector species: they constituted 75-100% of all ticks collected from cattle, reaching the peak of their abundance in May.

Importance of Protocol Immunization in Epitope Selectivity of Monoclonal Antibodies Interacting with Binding Subunit of Viscumin.

The application of two immunization protocols and two screening systems has allowed to produce five hybridomas mlb5, mlb6, mlb7, mlb9 and Mbch1, secreting mAbs against different sites of viscumin B-subunit. On the base of mlb9 and Mbch1 hybridomas, the test-system has been developed, able to detect up to 5 ng/ml of viscumin and up to 1 ng/ml of its B-chain. Produced hybridomas and monoclonal antibodies will be used for the studies of intracellular transport of plant toxins.

[Comparative study of electrophysiological mechanisms of anti-arrhythmia III class agents, cardiocyclide, nibentan, and sotalol during experimental myocardial infarction and sympathetic stimulation].

Electrophysiological mechanisms of the action of cardiocyclide, nibentan, and sotalol--antiarrhythmic agents of class III--was studied in dogs with experimental myocardial infarction induced by a two-step occlusion of the coronary artery. Cardiocyclide exhibited the properties typical of the class III antiarrhythmics by prolonging the ventricular repolarization and increasing the effective refractory periods in the atrium and ventricles. The degree of manifestation of these antiarrhythmic effects of cardiocyclide is independent of the induced heart rate, which is related to the ability of this drug to block the slow activation component (IKs) of the delayed rectified potassium current.

Development of parthenogenetic rat embryos.

In an effort to establish cloning technology for the rat, we tested several methods (electric stimulation, treatment with ethanol or strontium) for the parthenogenetic activation of rat oocytes. We observed marked individual differences among rats of the outbred Wistar strain in their ability to yield activatable oocytes. These differences were independent of the activation protocol and may be due to a genetic predisposition that is crucial for the parthenogenetic activation of oocytes.

Participation of the GABAergic system in the action of 2-amino-4-phosphonobutyrate on the OFF responses of frog retinal ganglion cells.

Perfusion of dark adapted frog eyecups with the ON pathway blocker 2-amino-4-phosphonobutyrate (APB) not only abolished the ganglion cells (GCs)' ON responses and the ERG b-wave, but it markedly potentiated the OFF responses of all ON-OFF and phasic OFF GCs and the d-wave amplitude of a simultaneously recorded ERG as well. The blockade of GABA(A) and GABA(C) receptors by picrotoxin eliminated this potentiating effect in 24 out of 41 GCs, although in the rest of the cells it did not produce any change in the APB effect. On the other hand, the d-wave potentiation was preserved during the GABAergic blockade in all experiments.

Effect of GABAergic blockade on light responses of frog retinal ganglion cells.

The effect of GABAergic blockade by picrotoxin on ganglion cells (GC) activity was investigated in perfused dark adapted eyecups of frog (Rana ridibunda). PT had diverse effects on the light responses of GC in contrast to its uniform potentiating effect on the amplitude of the ERG b- and d-wave. In some (n=32) of PT-sensitive ON-OFF GC the ON and OFF responses were changed in a similar manner (both responses were potentiated or both were inhibited), but in the other (n=10) the both responses were changed in a different manner.

[Electrophysiological effects of ethacizine in experimental myocardial infarction and stimulation of sympathetic heart innervation].

The electrophysiological effect of ethacizine, an antiarrhythmic agent of class IC, was studied in dogs with experimental myocardial infarction under the beta-adrenergic stimulation conditions.
