Brazilian Student and Professor Mobility.

In this paper, we looked at the effect of mobility by students, post-doctorates and professors on science in Brazil. We analysed CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP and Incites data to examine the number of scholarships and their impact on posterior publishing. Decision trees, including the region of the country, length of stay by student and Professor, as well as institution abroad, were evaluated, along with logistic regressions.

In response to the growing need for sustainable analytical methods, this study explores the repurposing of screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) that would otherwise be discarded. This involves recoating the working electrode surface with a graphite (Gr) and chitosan (CTS) dispersion, creating a reusable SPE (SPE-Gr/CTS). Demonstrating its utility, SPE-Gr/CTS was employed for the detection of 4-bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine (2C-B), a phenylethylamine commonly used for recreational proposes.

In this paper, we looked at the collaboration publishing patterns for groups of Global South countries (Latin America, Africa, ASEAN, Asian, BRICS), as well as publishing parameters. We looked at financing and the relationships between these groups and the Global North. Data from 2002 to 2021 was collected from InCites ® (Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics) and SciVal® (Scopus Elsevier).

Impact of Open Access Policy on Brazilian Science and Global Trends.

Open access (OA) publishing provides free online access to research articles without subscription fees. In Brazil, absence of financial support from academic institutions and limited government policies pose challenges to OA publication. Here, we used data from the Web of Science and Scopus to compare with global trends in journal accessibility and scientific quality metrics.

The academic formation challenges: what does retail expect from higher education institutions in pharmacy?

Background: The drug retail represents the main area of activity for pharmacists worldwide. In Brazil, this sector is responsible for employing around 80% of professionals. Before this reality, the academic training of pharmacists requires specialized skills and knowledge so they can fulfill their tasks.

Nongovernment organizations are increasingly leveraging the metaverse and its suite of extended reality technologies, such as 360° video and virtual reality, to immerse audiences in situations depicting environmental threats. The promise of immersive storytelling as a conservation tool is predicated on the verisimilitude of the mediated experience, with exposure to environmental threats in immersive video akin to exposure. Data were collected from InCites® and SciVal® (2012-2021). Groups of Global South countries were formed (ASEAN, Asia, Africa, BRICS, Caribbean, Central and Latin America).

Benefits of a Dual-Task Training on Motor and Cognitive Functions in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Controlled Clinical Trial.

Objective: The aim of the study is to verify the effects of a 3-mo dual-task training on motor and cognitive functions in community-dwelling older adults.

Design: In this prospective, single-blinded, controlled clinical trial, a total of 40 participants were allocated to either the experimental or the control (no-exercise) group. The intervention program consisted of a combination of motor and cognitive exercises conducted twice a week on nonconsecutive days.

Comprehensive detection of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) in forensic samples using carbon nanotube screen-printed electrodes.

Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is a prevalent psychoactive substance recognized for its hallucinogenic properties, often encountered in blotter papers for illicit consumption. Given that LSD ranks among the most widely abused illicit drugs globally, its prompt identification in seized samples is vital for forensic investigations. This study presents, for the first time, an electrochemical screening method for detecting LSD in forensic samples, utilizing a multi-wall carbon nanotube screen-printed electrode (SPE-MWCNT).

Hemodynamic testing to guide vasodilator therapy in cardiac amyloidosis.

Unlabelled: Cardiac amyloidosis is a restrictive cardiomyopathy for which diuretics are frequently used, but vasodilators have classically been relatively contraindicated due to side effects of hypotension. In the setting of decompensated heart failure, this may not be the case. We report a man with advanced cardiac amyloidosis who presented to the hospital with decompensated heart failure, in part, due to elevated systemic vascular resistance.

Pediatric Dysphonia and the Access to Voice Therapy: A Study in Speech Therapy Services Available in a Capital City in the Northeast of Brazil.

Objectives: Defining the laryngeal and vocal alterations in the pediatric group studied in private speech therapy facilities; and estimating the time period between the problem being identified by the parents and the access to the proper provided services.

Methods: A cross-sectional analytical observational research with data collected from medical records by the speech therapist of each private facility. A written form was prepared and sent to the speech therapists of the 40 existing facilities.

We therefore evaluated bibliographic mapping of citation, co-occurrence of keywords, co-citation and bibliographic coupling for heat tolerance, and these species. Data was obtained from Scopus (Elsevier) and analysed in Vosviewer.

Introduction: In recent decades, the professionalization of pharmacy has been debated worldwide. With the advent of industrialization, pharmacist autonomy has weakened, especially in the retail pharmacy market. Tropical Animal Health and Production: a 55-year bibliographic analysis setting the course for a globalized international reference journal.

In this paper, we carried out a bibliographic mapping analysis with data from Scopus on publications in Tropical Animal Health and Production (TAHP) from its creation. This analysis is important for the journal and its readership, as a self-evaluation in terms of the scope and impact of the journal and how it is changing as well as aiding the editors in shaping the future direction of the journal. A total of 6229 papers were found, with an average of 8.

Funding as a determinant of Citation Impact in Scientific Papers in different countries.

Several factors influence the citation impact. This paper constructed paths from funding to citation impact on a country basis. Country data came from Incites® (2011-2020).

Background: Elevated myocardial intracellular sodium ([Na]) was shown to decrease mitochondrial calcium ([Ca]) via mitochondrial sodium/calcium exchanger (NCX), resulting in decreased mitochondrial ATP synthesis. The sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) ertugliflozin (ERTU) improved energetic deficit and contractile dysfunction in a mouse model of high fat, high sucrose (HFHS) diet-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCMP).
