Exploring baseline outcomes for early-stage NSCLC with these rare mutations is crucial.

Purpose: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is beneficial in heart transplant and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) recipients, but patterns of attendance remain poorly understood. We describe CR adherence and cessation in this population.

Methods: We performed a retrospective review of heart transplant and LVAD recipients who attended ≥1 CR session at a tertiary medical center (2013-2022).

Methods: Video head impulses test (vHIT; ICS impulse, Otometrics, Denmark) was reviewed in 40 participants (20 patients with dizziness; 20 controls). VOR gain, saccades characteristics (frequency of occurrence, amplitude, latency) and time difference between head and eye velocity was compared.

Community-Engaged Research (CEnR) to Address Gaps in Chronic Kidney Disease Education among Underserved Latines-The CARE Study.

Ensuring equitable chronic kidney disease (CKD) education for Latine patients with low health literacy and low English proficiency stands as a critical challenge, and the "Caridad Awareness and Education" (CARE) initiative represents our ongoing effort to address this imperative issue. In collaboration with twenty-three patients living with CKD, diabetes and/or hypertension and twelve trained Community Health Workers (CHWs) from diverse Latine subgroups, we conducted a research initiative funded by the National Kidney Foundation. Our primary objective was to co-design and test culturally tailored patient education materials (PEMs) for underserved Latine adults at risk for or diagnosed with CKD.

A perspective on neuroscience data standardization with Neurodata Without Borders.

Neuroscience research has evolved to generate increasingly large and complex experimental data sets, and advanced data science tools are taking on central roles in neuroscience research. Neurodata Without Borders (NWB), a standard language for neurophysiology data, has recently emerged as a powerful solution for data management, analysis, and sharing. We here discuss our labs' efforts to implement NWB data science pipelines.

SJS/TEN immune-related dermatologic reaction secondary to immune checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab in skin of color.

Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are rare but severe dermatologic immune-related adverse events (irAEs) characterized by the separation of the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. Less commonly documented, these adverse events have shown to be secondary to immune checkpoint inhibitors such as anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody pembrolizumab. We present the case of a 33-year-old African American female with a pertinent past medical history of history of recurrent progressive metastatic squamous cell carcinoma cervical cancer treated with pembrolizumab.

Significance Of Problem: Nursing student attrition is a global issue affecting students, nursing programs, and the profession. One group of nursing students at risk for attrition are those that have failed and need to repeat a required nursing course. Objectives: To determine the impact of older donor age (70+ years) on long-term survival and freedom from chronic lung allograft dysfunction in lung transplant (LTx) recipients.

Methods: A retrospective single-center study was performed on all LTx recipients from 2002 to 2017 and a modern subgroup from 2013 to 2017. Recipients were stratified into 4 groups based on donor lung age (<18, 18-55, 56-69, ≥70 years).

Objective: To evaluate the use of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) genotyping before tissue diagnosis among patients with suspected advanced NSCLC and its association with time to treatment.

Vibration Thresholds Using Conventional Audiometry are Clinically Useful Indicators of Postural Instability in Older Adults.

Background:  Falls are a major health concern with potentially dramatic consequences for people over 65 years of age. One crucial determinant in the risk of falls in older adults is postural control, a complex process that requires the contribution of different sensory modalities, namely visual, vestibular, auditory, and somatosensory. While there are well-established methods to screen for age-related vision, hearing, tactile, and vestibular impairments, there are very few widely available methods to screen for somatosensory function, but studies indicate that ankle audiometry (vibration thresholds) using a common B-71 bone vibrator can serve that purpose.

Racial and Ethnic Inequities in US Oncology Clinical Trial Participation From 2017 to 2022.

Importance: There is increasing recognition from regulatory agencies that racial and ethnic representation in clinical trials is inadequate and linked to health inequities. The extent of racial inequities in clinical trial participation is unclear because prior studies have synthesized enrollment data from published trials, which often do not report participant race and ethnicity.

Objective: To evaluate racial and ethnic inequities in oncology clinical trial participation in a contemporary cohort of patients with cancer before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Metastatic solid tumors to the testis: a clinicopathologic evaluation of 157 cases from an international collaboration.

To elucidate the spectrum of metastatic solid tumors to the testis and their clinicopathologic features. The databases and files of 26 pathology departments from 9 countries on 3 continents were surveyed to identify metastatic solid tumors to the testis and to characterize their clinicopathologic features in detail. We compiled a series of 157 cases of metastatic solid tumors that secondarily involved the testis.
