The Significance of a Cerebrovascular Accident Outcome Prediction Model for Patients, Family Members, and Health Care Professionals: Qualitative Evaluation Study.

Background: Patients with cerebrovascular accident (CVA) should be involved in setting their rehabilitation goals. A personalized prediction of CVA outcomes would allow care professionals to better inform patients and informal caregivers. Several accurate prediction models have been created, but acceptance and proper implementation of the models are prerequisites for model adoption.

The use of outcome data from quality registries to learn and improve; a Dutch nationwide quantitative analysis in five disease areas.

Background: Clinical quality registries (CQR) aid in measuring, collecting and monitoring outcome data but it is still unknown how these data are used by hospitals to improve the quality of care. This study assessed the current state of outcome-based quality improvement in the Netherlands in 2022 based on data from multiple disease areas and CQRs; cardiothoracic surgery (Netherlands Heart Registration [NHR]), cardiology (NHR), nephrology, (Nefrovision), intensive care (National Intensive Care Evaluation [NICE]), and orthopaedic surgery (Dutch Arthroplasty Register [LROI]).

Methods & Results: The Health Outcomes Management Evaluation (HOME) model was used to assess the current state of outcome-based quality improvement.

Evaluating the Impact of a Shared Decision-making Intervention for Patients with Renal Cell Carcinoma: The SDM-RCC Study Protocol.

The aim of the SDM-RCC study is to evaluate the impact of a comprehensive shared decision-making (SDM) intervention for patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) on the decision-making process and outcomes. The intervention includes online patient decision aids (PtDAs) and training of health care professionals (HCPs) in the use of PtDAs and SDM. The study is a multicenter, prospective pretest-posttest cohort in six Dutch hospitals, focusing on patients with localized or metastatic RCC.

Evaluating patient participation in value-based healthcare: Current state and lessons learned.

Introduction: Value-based healthcare (VBHC) focusses on increasing value for patients. Hospitals aim to implement VBHC via value improvement (VI) teams for medical conditions. To determine the patient's perspective on value, collective patient participation is important in these teams.

MMpowerment: Empowering patients with multiple myeloma for shared decision-making by developing an intervention to integrate personal preferences into digital care pathways.

Objective: As part of a quality improvement initiative in the context of value-based health care we aimed to optimize the shared decision-making (SDM) process in the care pathway for Multiple Myeloma as part of a digital care pathway (DCP). For this, more insight was needed in health care professionals' (HCPs') perspectives on SDM, and how SDM elements could be addressed in a DCP for MM to facilitate HCPs' performance of SDM.

Methods: HCPs were interviewed as per the theory of planned behaviour and the model of organizational context and SDM (phase 1).
