Darier's disease is a rare autosomal-dominant genodermatosis characterised by persistent hyperkeratotic papules and plaques in seborrhoeic areas. The flexural areas of the body are especially difficult to treat, and they are often resistant to current topical and systemic treatment strategies. To our knowledge, this article provides the first description of a successful surgical treatment of a severely debilitating, hypertrophic Darier's disease of intergluteal area, resistant to oral retionids.

Background: Target innervation through an end-to-side (ETS) nerve coaptation depends on axonal sprouting from the donor nerve. Terminal axonal sprouting in a partially denervated target tissue is more extensive from a crushed donor nerve than from an intact donor nerve. We hypothesized that axonal sprouting into an ETS coapted recipient nerve could be stimulated by crushing the donor nerve.

We therefore reviewed our series of endoscopically assisted ulnar nerve decompression at the elbow to determine the effectiveness of the procedure, which was intended to minimize perioperative morbidity and scar discomfort.

Background And Objectives: We report on a pilot study of port wine stain (PWS) treatment with a prototype Nd:YAG/KTP laser system, emitting simultaneously at 1,064 and 532 nm, and equipped with a cryogen spray cooling (CSC) device.
Study Design/patients And Methods: On 10 patients (4-36 years old, mean: 16.2 years) with skin types II-III, therapeutic efficacy of the dual-wavelength laser (KTP+) was compared with a standard KTP laser (532 nm only) at the same pulse duration (25 millisecond), spot diameter (3 mm), and CSC parameters.
Fifteen fresh human cadaver hands were dissected, using x2.8 loupe magnification, to study the subcutaneous innervation at the site of the incision (in the line with the radial border of the ring finger) for standard open carpal tunnel decompression. Subcutaneous nerve branches were detected and traced proximally to determine their origin.
