Proximal femur fractures in the elderly are still a major event in the functional trajectory of patients. In order to optimize their care, a pilot orthogeriatric unit was created in 2018 at the Valais Hospital. This innovative unit, managed by the internist-geriatrician within the orthopedic department, allows the early and standardized management of geriatric syndromes and postoperative complications.

This injury is one of the most challenging injuries of the musculoskeletal system and almost always causes instability of the elbow. The use of an adjuvant hinged external fixator in such injuries is still debated.

Introduction: Clavicle fractures are very common, accounting for approximately 4% of all adult fractures. Segmental bipolar fractures involving the lateral and the medial ends of the clavicle are extremely rare, with only isolated cases reported in the literature. The injury mechanism is often unclear and the management of these fractures remains controversial.

Though SPR systems can achieve sub-micrometer resolution, the decay length causes a degradation in the images in the direction of plasmon propagation akin to a blurring artifact, with ringing along resonant to nonresonant transition edges. We present a method to significantly reduce this effect based on combining images of a sample acquired with distinct guided-mode propagation directions.

Fracture of the lateral process of the talus is a rare lesion commonly described in snowboarding injuries. Nevertheless, several conditions can lead to this injury, which is often misdiagnosed as a severe ankle sprain because of the difficulty in detecting it on standard radiographic views. Computed tomography is very helpful for the assessment of this injury.
