Chemotherapy hardly achieves satisfactory therapeutic efficacy owing to the widely occurred adverse effects and drug tolerance, and the extensively investigated delivery systems suffer from complicated synthesis, low drug loading and less efficient tumor accumulation. Herein, we developed rod-shape nanocrystals to address challenges in the circulation stability, tumor targeting and therapeutic efficacy of camptothecin (CPT), a mainstay of treatments for various cancers. CPT nanorods (CNR) were coated with polydopamine (PDA) to achieve combinational chemo- and photothermal therapies (PTT) and then wrapped with cell membrane (CM) from homotypic tumor cells to obtain CNR@PDA-CM.

Introduction: Novel fluid biomarkers for tracking neurodegeneration specific to Alzheimer's disease (AD) are greatly needed.

Methods: Using two independent well-characterized cohorts (n = 881 in total), we investigated the group differences in plasma N-terminal tau (NT1-tau) fragments across different AD stages and their association with cross-sectional and longitudinal amyloid beta (Aβ) plaques, tau tangles, brain atrophy, and cognitive decline.

Results: Plasma NT1-tau significantly increased in symptomatic AD and displayed positive associations with Aβ PET (positron emission tomography) and tau PET.

Background: Small airway dysfunction (SAD) and impaired diffusion capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide ( ) are positively associated with a worse prognosis. Individuals with both dysfunctions have been identified in clinical practice and it is unknown whether they have worse health status or need management. We conducted this study to explore the association between SAD and impaired , and the difference between the groups with two dysfunctions, with either one dysfunction and with no dysfunction.
