Background: Advance care planning is increasingly recognised as an integral part of achieving excellence at the end of life (EoL), but barriers still prevent individuals from having the opportunity to discuss their wishes and preferences for the future.

Aim: To describe the development and initial evaluations of an innovative facilitated ACP model, the ACP Triple E, which empowers individuals through education to engage in ACP conversations.

Methods: This model uses a collaborative approach involving all sectors of a large university health board to equip all health and social care professionals with the knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in ACP discussion and also raise public awareness of the benefits of ACP.

This is a retrospective case review of 237 patients with displaced fractures of the acetabulum presenting over a ten-year period, with a minimum follow-up of two years, who were studied to test the hypothesis that the time to surgery was predictive of radiological and functional outcome and varied with the pattern of fracture. Patients were divided into two groups based on the fracture pattern: elementary or associated. The time to surgery was analysed as both a continuous and a categorical variable.

Rupestris stem pitting associated virus (RSPaV), a component of the rugose wood complex (RWC), is a worldwide graft transmissible disease of grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.). RSPaV has a single-stranded 8,726-nt RNA genome, belongs to the genus Foveavirus, and is often associated with Rupestris stem pitting (RSP) disease (2).

We reviewed the epidemiology and complications of 79 patients who had operative treatment for an acetabular fracture undertaken at this hospital, in the first 5 years of a pelvic and acetabular fracture service. The median Injury Severity Score was 18 (range, 9-41). Sixty-five patients (82%) had an important injury of at least one other system.
