Background: The EULAR Sjögren's syndrome (SS) disease activity index (ESSDAI) pulmonary domain is used to assess the activity of respiratory system involvement in Sjögren's disease (SjD). The most unfavorable form of respiratory involvement in SjD, after lymphomas, is interstitial lung disease (ILD).
Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the involvement of the respiratory system in SjD patients and the occurrence of ILD in high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT), depending on immunological markers, the influence of cigarette smoking, and the age of the patients.
Introduction: In ORAL Surveillance, incidence rates (IRs) of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and malignancies (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer [NMSC]) in cardiovascular (CV)-risk-enriched patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were numerically greater with tofacitinib in North America versus the rest of the world, due to underlying risk factors. Here, we evaluated the safety and efficacy of tofacitinib versus tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi) among patients with RA across geographical regions.
Methods: Patients with RA in ORAL Surveillance (NCT02092467), who were aged ≥ 50 years with ≥ 1 additional CV risk factor, received tofacitinib 5 or 10 mg twice daily or TNFi; 45.
As severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) evolves, infection management in vulnerable populations requires formalized guidance. Although low-virulence variants of SARS-CoV-2 remain predominant, they pose an increased risk of severe illness in adults with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs). Several disease-specific (chronic long-grade inflammation, concomitant immunosuppression) and individual (advanced age, multimorbidity, pregnancy, vaccination status) factors contribute to excess risk in RMD populations.

Post-COVID-19 syndrome, also known as long COVID or long-haul COVID, refers to a persistent condition where individuals experience symptoms and health issues after the acute phase of COVID-19. The aim of this study was to assess the strength and fatigue of skeletal muscles in people recovered from COVID-19.
