Diagnostic Role of Endoscopic Ultrasound in Cardiac Angiosarcoma.

Primary cardiac tumors are a rare disease, with 20% of the cases being malignant. Among them, angiosarcoma is characterized by a short clinical course and poor prognosis, even after surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. We present a 67-year-old woman diagnosed with a primary malignant tumor (angiosarcoma) infiltrating the right atrial myocardium.

Effects of Revascularization on Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients With Chronic Stable Angina.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) leads to cardiac autonomic neuropathy (CAN), affecting blood flow and heart rate regulation eventually causing chronic stable angina (CSA). Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) can correct autonomic dysfunctions and improve myocardial perfusion. This study aimed to assess CAN using heart rate variability (HRV) and cardiovascular reflex tests in T2DM patients with CSA before and after PCI.

A Cross-Sectional Study of Cardiovascular Autonomic Reactivity in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Background: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) may be linked to dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system, affecting collagen production and processing. These collagen abnormalities lead to a condition called dysautonomia. Findings underscore the need for further investigation into autonomic nervous system function in EDS which involves larger studies to strengthen the evidence of non-invasive screening tools like cardiovascular reflex tests.

The Effect of Supine Versus Upright Positioning on Eyelid Height in the Nonsurgical Patient.

Purpose: To directly compare margin-reflex distance 1, margin-reflex distance 2, and palpebral fissure in the upright versus supine positions in nonsurgical patients.

Methods: A total of 43 patients (31 female, 12 male, and age range 26-96) were enrolled. Photos were taken in the clinic in the upright and supine position with a ruler placed vertically in the same plane as the eyelid, and the above computer-analyzed measurements were obtained.
