Although effects of stress-induced anxiety on the gastrointestinal tract and enteric nervous system (ENS) are well studied, how ENS dysfunction impacts behaviour is not well understood. We investigated whether ENS modulation alters anxiety-related behaviour in rats. We used loperamide, a potent μ-opioid receptor agonist that does not cross the blood-brain barrier, to manipulate ENS function and assess changes in behaviour, gut and brain gene expression, and microbiota profile.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of performance feedback to hospitals on treatment times for EVT.
Body perception plays a fundamental role in social cognition. Yet, the neural mechanisms underlying this process in humans remain elusive given the spatiotemporal constraints of functional imaging. Here, we present intracortical recordings of single- and multiunit spiking activity in two epilepsy surgery patients in or near the extrastriate body area, a critical region for body perception.

This study investigates lormetazepam as an adjunct sedative alternative to midazolam for mechanically ventilated patients with COVID-19. We aimed to determine the clinical pharmacokinetics (PK) of enterally administered lormetazepam and provide dosing recommendations.
